Default I want to try calorie shifting

I weighed myself the other day and there was absolutely no change from the week before, which I understand can be normal. I read a little about calorie shifting, and I think it would work for me. There are some days I want to eat more and somedays I don't feel like eating much. Most of the sites I've seen with info aren't very clear. If 1800 is my ideal amount of calories, would I want to average 1800 over the week? I mean if I did that, it seems like there would be a couple of very high days. I'm not sure the best way to do this.

I believe this is a weeks worth of calorie cycling for an 1800 calorie diet, it should average out to 1800 cals a day.

1800
1600
2000
1700
2100
1600
1900

Yes, you want to average around 1,800. What lottie posted is a good start!

The posted range is a good place to start. I did some accidental calorie shifting for a while, I did five lower days and two higher days, ended up at my average like that...

I do calorie shifting and my target number is 1850. this is my schedule:
m-1600
t-2000
w-1800
th-2000
f-1800
sat-2400
sun-1400

I planned my high day on Saturday becasue if we go out for dinner or to friends that is the day we do it. What my doctor said was to have one extreme high day and one extreme low day (never go below 1200 in any plan!) this helps keep your metabolism guessing and BURNING!

I have done horrible damage to my metabolism by not eating during the day ---- now I have to retrain it. It is still such a struggle for me to get enough calories, but in time I will get there.

Thanks everyone. Today the restaurant I work at caught on fire so I didn't have to work. Since we were all free for lunch, one of my friends wanted to go to HuHot, which really isn't that bad, except that turned into margaritas then into more drinks. It's nice to have high calorie days for things like that.

So what exactly is calorie shifting and where can I find out more info on it? How do you determine the # of calories you get? Sounds interesting---how well does it work?
