Default suggestions for Ruby Tuesdays?

Hi everyone,

I'm having a girls' night out tonight, and Ruby Tuesdays was the choice (not mine, but the choice nonetheless). I only eat there about once a year and am not too familiar with the menu. I can fall back on the salad bar, but I was wondering if anyone else had some suggestions that wouldn't get me too much off plan.

Thanks so much... I'll check back before I go!

There is a site called Dottie's weight loss zone. It has a restaurant section that gives calories and WW points for menu items. Ruby Tuesday is listed. Looks like the burgers are loaded with calories!

Ruby Tuesday has an awesome salad bar. If I go, thats all I get. Its actually the only reason I go there.

I get the mini-turkey burger salad combo. It's two mini turkey burgers. I ask for no mayo and eat only one bun. Then I substitute broccoli for the french fries. Combo means it comes with the salad bar too, so I make a low-fat salad.

Ruby Tuesday's recently put their nutrition info online.

4 turkey minis is 1058 calories, so 2 burgers, only one bun and no mayo is probably around 400 calories = perhaps even less!

Last time I was there, I got the petite sirloin, mozzarella and tomato salad, and green beans...came out to around 415 really satisfying calories.

+1 on the salad bar. Many times I go and all I'll get is the soup and salad and it fills me up but be careful of all the mayo based stuff (potao salad, chicken salad, crab salad etc.) on the bar.

I have been sneaking my own low cal salad dressing in there lately!

Thanks everyone! When I go, I usually get the salad bar too, but seeing as how it's been freezing cold, something hot sounds good. Heather - the mini turkey burgers sound appealing. I may go for that. I love mayo, but I can easily forgo it for mustard and skip the bun.

And, Flatiron, I think I'll go put a little of my Newman's Own Lt. Basalmic in my purse now!

Thanks again, everyone!

Wow! Just got more motivated to check their site... lots of good healthy choices actually. Check these out. The white chile sounds tasty to me on a cold night! Now I might have a hard time deciding!
