I am officially weighing in on Friday. I have at least 95 lbs to lose initially, and will see how I feel when I lose it all, then will determine how much more.
My name is Kathy. I live in NH. I am an RN and I am unhealthy. I have recently started to use a cpap. I was told by my MD I am prediabetic, have metabolic resistance, my cholesterol levels are elevated. I only get about 2 periods a year. I am 37 years old.
I am scared.
I have never made it past 2 months for any diet. I am trying a different approach now. Healthier choices and exercise. I dont want to weigh things or count points. I am going to cut back on carbs, try to avoid "bad" carbs and eat more veggies, fruits and protein. I am giving up my soda addiction and going to just water.
I am ready for the battle. I have to stick to this. My life depends on it.
Anyway, I am not sure where to start posting here. So you may see me here and there until I find somewhere to fit in.
Welcome! This is a great site and I really love this section. Everyone here is very welcoming and encouraging!
I am right there with you. I am needing to lose a lot of weight and have never made it for more than a month or two without giving up. This time will be different though!!
Kathy! You will get so much support here! You can do it. It sounds like you have some pretty important reasons to lose weight. I did too, and it made the difference for me this time. I look forward to hearing of your progress!
Hi and welcome Kandie. I too am new and would love to join this group. I am a new mom again after 10 years, so top that off with I also have PCOS, and while pregnant with my first child I was hit by a drunk driver and now have nerve damage and such in my legs. So that really limits my exercising. Not that I was ever a small one to begin with. I would love to lose 100 lbs but will even settle for 75. I have done many diets in my life and the last one I did was WW flex plan over a year ago and lost 30lbs before I stopped tracking. I am one of those women who cannot blame pregnancy for weight gain. I only gained 13 lbs the whole pregnancy and a week before I gave birth I was below my pre-pregnancy weight and I wasn't sick and ate the same if not more than usual. Same thing with my first pregnancy only I gained 15 and lost 22 at her birth.
I am 35~~~no spring chick by any means but need the support and motivation of others to keep me going this time. Can't wait to get to know more of you ladies.
Kari
Katy and Kari!!!! This is a great group to join with a lot of people who are very sportive. I think you will enjoy reading the boards and jump in on them as often as you can.
Angie
to both of you. I'm looking forward to getting to know you both better!
3FC and this forum in particular have some of the nicest, friendliest, most encouraging people around. Keep posting and keep us updated with how you're doing!
Welcome! I am doing something similar to you, Kathy. Making healthy food choices, drinking more water, and exercise. I have learned that forcing myself to stick to any sort of rigid "diet" does not work for me--ususally has the opposite effect!
This is a great place--very supportive and lots of info! I am sure you will find the right 'spot' for you!
