I would like to find a nice body lotion. I used to use the bath and body stuff but I would like to try something that is less about scent and more about good hydration. Right now I am not really using anything when I get out of the shower.
I'd look for some shea butter cream. My favorite lotions are $$$ but even in the regular store, you should be able to find some decent lotions. Whole Foods 365 brand has a good lotion too and it comes in unscented.
I really like Gold Bond ultra moisturizing cream. It has a very neutral scent and really moisturizes well. I use their regular body cream and their foot lotion. Both are quite inexpensive and last a long time. The moisture also lasts all day without feeling greasy.
For my hands, I use Crabtree and Evelyn's Gardener's lotion exclusively.
I vote for Aveeno. My mom gave me a sampler pack a few years ago for Christmas. It is so silky without being greasy. I love the soft scent of the one with a lavender cap.
Another tip too-I once read an article about dry brushing your whole body before showering. It is supposed to be an important step for both healthy skin and proper waste elimination. You might do a Google search for more info. It helps you to just slow down and think about pampering yourself for a few minutes.
I looooove lotions. Regarding the post above, Aveeno IS wonderful, but not cheap.
I'm a huge fan of Palmer's Cocoa Butter, and recently, Palmers FIRMING butter. It actually DOES work. My skin looks fantastic. It's not even $5 for a bottle, but the bottles are small and one lasts like less than 2 weeks with once a day use. I cannot NOT lotion after a shower, I just don't feel right. I also like Olay Quench. Smells good.
Dry brushing is a GREAT thing. I've done it before in the past, it's just time consuming and I fell out of the habit. It makes my skin so smooth though. I really ought to get back to doing it regularly.
I generally use the scented stuff -- currently the Vanilla Sugar Body Cream from Bath and Body Works, but for my face, and as a general hand cream, I use Cetaphil -- I also wash my face with their daily facial cleanser. Both were recommended to me, on seperate occasions, by my dermatologist and my redheaded, sensitive-skinned family doctor...he swears by the stuff.
For some reason, I am allergic to Curel. It gives me a rash. I know a lot of people swear by it...but it just makes me itch and turns me red.
What's really nice and hydrating is Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil. After showing (but while still in the shower), squirt a bit and rub it over and into your skin really well. Then get out and towel yourself off. By the time you towel dry, not really a lot gets on the towel and it's not really "oily" anyway. It's really hydrating and smells great!
MY vote is for Aveeno. I used to have really bad alligator skin, then started using Aveeno body wash and thier lotion. Now no more flakey skin. I also use Aveeno cleansers for my face. Wonderful stuff.
My hands and feet are the only parts of me that get dry enough to need lotion, but I looove anything with shea butter. My favorite is the shea butter hand cream from L'Occitane, but in order to not go bankrupt buying that stuff I tried a few other brands and I like the Jergen's cream that has Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter. The cream would probably be too heavy for all-over use, but there's a lotion that's thinner.

I am a L'Occitane junky. I stock up around the holidays when they have all their specials on the smaller tubes. The stuff lasts me all year. Also, try Amazon. I've found it for pretty cheap on there, especially this time of year.
But yes, mose people know that just about anything with a "L'Occcitane label on it will put a smile on my face
