Hello..I need help

Today(lunch) I had a 4oz beef patty it came up as 7 points on the WW online tools.

For dinner I ate ground beef that I measured as 1/2 cup and it came up as 4 points but the other day(and lunch today) I entered 4 0z for the same amount of ground beef and it came up as 7 points.

How come when I enter it as half a cup it is 4 points but as 4 oz it is 7 points.Which is correct?I thought that 4 oz and 1/2 cup were the same measurements?

I used to get confused by this on my calorie tracker ("How did I eat 1300 calories worth of shredded coconut?!"). When you measure a half cup, that's 4 FLUID ounces -- a fluid ounce is a measurement of volume, not weight. When you input something as ounces in your calorie tracker, that's an ounce by weight.

Don't feel stupid. You can get a scale for under $10 to weigh your food. I got a "Thinner" at Linens 'n Things and had a $5 coupon to use so it was really inexpensive.
