Default Wii Fit - Can I do it?

I see some posts here and there talking about the Wii Fit. It looks like fun but I was wondering if I am too heavy for it right now. I also have some achilles issues but can get around them if I stretch well before working out. If you look at my signature I am almost 260 pounds. Am I too big for the balance board? Will it break? I know I can ask here because you all understand.

Let me know. I might head out tomorrow night after work to get one.

Hi DollyR,

I'm pretty sure the weight limit for the Wii Fit is 300lbs. I started using it when I was 254lbs and it survived! You might find some of the yoga and strength exercises helpful for your achilles issues. Let me know if you have any other questions and come and join us in the Wii Fit Challenge.

We bought it for a family holiday present and I checked into that first as my hubs is a big old guy. I read that the limit is 330 pounds for digital weigh-ins and 600 pounds for actual support.

This is such a good question!!

I keep going round and round in my head about wanting a Wii fit. Will the board hold me? Is this the kind of exercise I need? Shouldn't I be doing something more substantial??

FB is right! I had to dig out my books I also did a quick search and someone said that if you are over 330lbs then you won't be able to get past the WI to play even if the board supports up to 600 pounds.

I use mine mostly for the weight tracker part.
I enjoy the games and Yoga especially but I can't see how it would really help with weight loss,BUT I feel any movement is better than none at all. And none at all is MY favorite kind of exercise!

Yep, I have one and the weight limit is 330lbs. I was really nervouse because when I started I was 304 and thought for sure I would break it, but nope. We both survived fine!

I just saw one tonight at a party. It looks like fun but I am still not sure on the "workout" it would give you. Granted I only saw sports and would like to actually get to play with it to make a final desicion.
