I've been reading (as time permits) this maintenance blog for the last couple months, and find it interesting. It has a lot of entries that parallel many of our discussions here over the last few years. I have their book on order, and plan to read it and report back in on it, assuming I finish it in some kind of reasonable time.
Hi there. I just ordered my copy, too. I blog with Barbara, but this is her book. I just wrote the intro I've never had something I've written in a book before so I'm a little nervous. Can't imagine what Barbara feels like right now. I'll be anxious to hear what you think of the book. L
Thanks, Wardhog. I've been lurking for months on these forums and am feeling the personal need to talk to a few more maintainers. It's kinda lonely out there, you know? L
Welcome, Lynn, and feel free to jump into our weekly chat or any thread that interests you. Or start one of your own -- we're all looking forward to hearing more from you!
Hi Lynn. Welcome. Welcome. I've read your blog too, many times. It does amaze me, once again, to "hear" and "meet" people with similar experiences. And just how alike we "maintainers" are. I mean I just sit there and read it and bob my head up and down in total agreement. Lynn, we're even the same age and have lost just about the same amount of weight.
Good luck with the book and I really look forward to hearing more from you.
Lynn - glad to see you here! The maintainers world is kind of small, it's wonderful to have a place to hang out with others of the same mindset. Hope to see you post here more (and I love your blog).
Hi you guys. Thanks for such a warm welcome! Lori, you're right. The maintaining world is small. I was told if I wrote a book about my maintenance experience, no one would read it. Publishers, she said, think maintenance is dull. Losing weight is "sexy" in the book world. *eye roll*
I love all your stats! Gosh, I feel right at home! Yay! I'm still navigating this site and figuring out where everything is so bear with me. I'll be back when I figure out how I got here
I got my book! My initial impression is that it has a lot of good stuff in it and other stuff that I have issues with. Looks like about half of it is Paleo diet centric (called Primarian here). We'll see. Open mind and all that. I'll start reading seriously tomorrow and report back.
Anne
Oh, yeah, welcome Lynn!

Oh, goodness, if that's the case it sounds like the same diet my doctor has been recommending for me (Dr. Gundry's Diet Evolution). It forbids grains for one thing (YUCK).
