Default eating disorders and ww

I'm just sorta curious if anyone has had any experiences with eating disorders and Weight Watchers. Do you think the WW program can cause them? Does it help people with them to conquer them? Any overall thoughts on the topic?

thanks.

If you have had an eating disorder and admit to it W/W will not allow you to join. I don't think W/W leads to an eating disorder because I think it is a pyschological problem.

I am not at all sure that WW could help someone with an eating disorder, mainly because just being on the program forces you to think about food, eating, points (or calories) all the time. And I suppose if someone had a pre-disposition to an E.D. then WW might bring it out. I have had some personal experience with E.D.s and sometimes I struggle to find a balance in following the program. When I was at my goal weight I was very compulsive about how much I ate, my exercise, etc. On the other hand, when I am "freaking" about having eaten too many points, having it in black & white in my journal calms me down.
