Default Calories in decongestant syrup

So, I have fluid behind my ears so my doc gave me some psedofed syrup (our pharm was out of pills). OMG it tastes terrible. Then, I got to thinking, how many cals are in this stuff? I looked it up online. Two tablespoons has 60 calories! Thats ridiculous! Its almost like eating straight oil! Just thought I'd warn yall...I know I'm going to switch to a minimum dosage and use it very sparingly.

More like straight sugar. What a bummer. I don't know if you were prescribed something with more than just psuedoephedrine in it, but Sudafed is *widely* available over the counter in pill form.

I get all my meds from my doc's office, saves me money in the long run. And at our drug stores, in order to get meds, they make copies of your ID cards and make you sign a stupid waiver stating that you are not using the drugs for the manufacture of illegal drugs. And then you can't buy that drug again for up to three weeks from that store. I trust my doc, and he trusts me (which is rare these days...) so if he ran out of pills and needs to give me calorie laden syrup...which tastes gross, I can deal. Just thought I'd post how MANY cals are in it because I was shocked and appauled.

When I was shopping for a calcium supplement I picked up one that was a small tablet size, supposed to be easier to swallow, smoother, etc. As I read the back I noticed that you were to take 3 per day at 45 calories apiece! And the Viactiv chews were full of calories too! I had no idea that I needed to think about the calories in the medicines I was being given until that...

Thanks for the heads up on the cough syrup!
