Default Weekly Chat Threads?

Daily accountability threads are fairly popular and helpful. If you are a regular in Weight Loss Support let us know what you think.

This is just my opinion, of course, but Weight Loss Support has always been sort of a general area. Most of the posters, from my experience, are following different plans in this area-Weight Watchers, Atkins, Calorie Counting, Body For Life, South Beach, or whatever...

From what I have seen of most members here, people tend to post in a chat thread, or accountability thread in the area that pertains to their particular diet plan...and then we usually post in areas that also interest us on a personal level-things like 20 somethings, General Chatter, Exercise!, and so forth.

Because of this, I prefer to have daily chat threads, or accountability threads, in the areas that are destined for one thing. Having a daily chat thread in Support is sort of redundant.

This is just my opinion, of course.

I agree with aphil.

I participate on 3 different accountability/weekly chats here on various boards and while I certainly would participate on one here (cause I'm an addict .. heh! ), it would be kinda redundant.

Hey!

We've had different ones in Weight Loss Support before... post your daily menu planning, etc.... but after awhile they peter out. Interest comes and goes.

You know, I just voted that I would be in favor of a chat in this part of the forum, but I can understand what Aphil and Photochick said. It is true that I would put the same stuff in this chat thread as I said in the other ones.

I agree with ALL of you! As APHIL says we usually post where our personal interests are. Then, as Jay says...they can really take off as in the 5K ones I started...then peter out.

Some of us here know where "everything" is....but I think some folks get lost!

My opinion is....TRY ANYTHING!!!...if it takes off cool! If not oh well nothing lost....there is so much people can gain here...

you just never know "what" is going to be the THREAD that gets that one individual moving in the right direction!

EDIT ~ as Diane and other's have said...I also find myself posting the same thing in several threads...some read my "junk" several times!...but then all of the people I want to "share" with don't over-lap into some of the other threads.

Ofcourse you agree with everyone, Gary. You're a rooster trying to keep his head attached to his body while in a Chick's world. And I know you LOVE it.

BTW, I appreciate it when post go into different areas. It gives me a better chance of finding them that way. If it isn't appropriate, the mods move it and leave a message. I can't navigate this entire site, so .........

With at least 11 people who are interested I'd say it's worth a go? Will we be doing this Susan?

Oh yes, Josephine!

I kinda thought that if there were only a couple of people I would help them find an appropriate, existing accountability thread to join. But we've got lots of folks.

It could fizzle ... lots of threads do.
It could help even just one person. That'd be good.
It could lead folks to the realisation that they'd rather talk to matching folks and if they then go off and join any accountability thread... it's be worth our short stint.

It's only Tuesday. Wait 'til I think of something clever and I'll start one for the rest of this week.

Please feel free to PM me if there's something you'd like to discuss but don't want to bring up.
