Smile Making the RIGHT Choices

Yet another weekend and another graduation party...this time a friend's daughter...I did MUCH better than I did last weekend YAY ME I didnt' make a 1000 calorie deficit ( it was about 600 I think) and I know that's still good, I obviously made come REALLY good decisions..I ate the fruit salad (which was probably they ONLY "good for you" thing there) I had a small helping of the homemade enchiladas, a small slice of deli sandwich, I had a lite beer and then drank crystal light the rest of the time...I ate ONE oatmeal cookie...that was to keep me away from the whipped cream drenched brownies...finally I told my husband I wanted to leave, we made our excuses and came home...we watched scary movies with our 10 year old and I ate my 100 calorie pop corn and they ate "real" pop corn ...

HOW do you maintain when you're at someone ELSE'S house and there are no "healthy" foods? It's so hard to log food when you really don't know what's in it...I usually just do my best and I aim high just in case..like for the enchilada (I ate one) I used a the calories based on an encilada MEAL it was 300 calories or something...am I going about this the right way?

Anyway I am very proud of myself for making LOTS of RIGHT choices and SOME kind of deficit...but I HATE not making my 1000 calorie deficit.

Good for you, it is hard when you are in someone else's domain. You did great, you should be proud!

Well, you just do the best you can under what ever circumstances you are in. Estimating just has to happen sometimes!

Be glad for the good decisions you made. You aren't going to be perfect 24/7/365, so don't beat yourself up about the deficit, or you will negate the good things you did.

Great job!!! I had a good weekend too. Went to a street festival and did not get the oily foods (although I did breakdown last night and ate some of my hubby nachos).

I do the same. I use common sense and try to estimate high when I eat foods that I don't know the calorie count. I figure it could only help me.

way to go mommie27!

It is hard not to sample all of the goodies that people bring to parties so its definitely a victory each and every time when you can stay away from overeating!

its hard to log when you eat at other peoples houses.. I usually just estimate based on what it is.. and its good to overestimate. Like the other day my friends mom made peanut butter short bread chocolate .. something I dont even know WHAT it was. haha and it was so hard to figure out the calories but as long as you get within 50-100 calories its not that big of a deal in my opinion.
