Default Monday Cluckings

It's an inside out umbrella day! Very wet and windy! We were lucky, though, that we managed to get a fairly decent weekend out of it.
Saturday was filled with my nephew's graduation from college, that took up most of the day, but it was nice. Yesterday Jake took me out for breakfast, and afterwards we went to the garden center where I picked out two gorgeous hanging planters. I worked in the flower beds for a while, then indulged in a lovely nap before the kids joined us for a backyard BBQ, and we wound down the day with strawberry shortcake and the "Survivor" season finale. So I had a very pleasant Mother's Day. (Even though I wasn't happy at all at with who won Survivor! )

I'm not venturing out in this rain for Curves this morning, I'm going to enjoy my coffee while doing the laundry, and do a WATP before I pick up Maggie at noon.

What's on everyone's agenda for this start of the work-week?

Good Monday morning!

Sorry you have cruddy weather, Cottage. Our week is looking good and the farmers have started to seed the fields. Now they'll want rain for the end of the week which will not be good for our sale at the Church on Saturday.

Yesterday at the "outlaw" BBQ was just fine. We were 22 at table ranging in age from 77 to 19 months. The wee lad absolutely adored Hershey and kept hugging her as if she were a teddy. Tayler, my GB, was very happy to have her two grandmothers to love. Food was good and I had only one glass of wine!

Today is the start of my really busy week. Plant digging and potting will continue and I will participate in the baking marathon. Claire already has a head start, not that it's a competition - much! I won't list what I'm making as it would be food porn but will do some rhubarb pies as I'm getting a rhubarb forest out there.

May we all have a No Moaning Monday!

Ruth, Keep up that rhubarb pie talk, and you're going to find yourself with another houseguest this week!

I make it with a crumble crust too. Let me know when you will arrive and I'll have it warm from the oven.

If only I could get away this week! I will take a raincheck on it, though! (Of course, you could always bring it here. )

Good morning ladies! I can't believe it is Monday again -- weigh-in day! Though AF was here this week, and we broke early for phase 2, so we'll see what kind of results I get.

I only have two weeks left of maternity leave! So, I am going to try to be productive this week -- getting everything cleaned and organized for my return to work. I hope to get a lot accomplished!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Good morning Chicks

Looks like a relatively nice few days here while I'm at work. It's nice to see everything greening up.

Cottage - Sounds like a lovely mother's day.

Ruth - If I give you my address could you just mail me all that extra rhubarb you don't need?! Have fun in the garden. I'm getting a vicarious gardening fix reading your updates

Natalie'sMom - Have two wonderful weeks at home with the baby. Must be hard getting everything planned to return to the job.

Me - Just another week at work. I have three late nights and only one is for work, so it will be a long week. Next week is Maine though, so just have to make it through this one!

The scale is making me crazy again - 4 lb drop than 4 days of creeping back up. I did have a pretty amazing (for me) NSV this week though. MY friend and I were coming back in from lunch the other day and I caught a glimpse of myself in the door. I just stopped and stared and then turned to her and said, I'm not fat anymore. Now I've been fat since I was 7 with a couple of brief interludes so I almost cried when I really saw myself. We don't have full length mirrors in the house so most of my experience with my body is in the shower and it's still lumpy and saggy and feels pretty much the same. I've spent a little time looking in windows and doors at myself the last few days I'm just amazed, almost stunned by what I see. I can ignore the scale crazies with that reinforcement.

Okay, off to start the week. Enjoy the spring day Chicks!

morning. rain for the 3rd or 4th day in a row. flooding now too.

managed to get to work.
scale showed a new low yesterday of 217.8 but this morning i was 219 solid. not complaining just thinking about how there was a time NOT SO LONG AGO where I would have been THRILLED with 219. now I'm OK with it.

in 6 weeks if i'm still seeing it then I'll be mad.

It's my busy week at work. Tomorrow Microsoft releases the monthly security patches. we have to update everything for the agency. UGH.

WoooOOOOO It was my one week weigh in on Phase I(1/4), and I lost 4.6 lb!! I haven't been able to shake that weight since I was in college!!

Sorry, had to get out that excitement!

Off to work for the day!

(and last night was the first night my croup-y daughter didn't wake up!)

Hope you all have a great day!

Hi chicks, just a quick hello before things start hopping in the office. I've got my telecon this morning, then a physical for DD to see if we can figure out her stomach issues. I've also got my cleaning at the dentist's this afternoon.

Survivor was really good last night. I was pulling for Cirie (anyone but Parvati really), and then I wanted her to get the 100K, poor thing. What a good season! Now no more until the fall. Ozzy is so weird these days...

Hope all the moms had a nice day yesterday.
Hi Twynn, and congrats on the poundage!
Cyndi, congrats on your skinniness! It does take a while for the head to catch up, doesn't it? I don't have mirrors either.
Ruth, do your rhubarb pies have any fruit in them or just the rhubarb?
Good luck getting everything done Nat's mom.
Sounds like you had a really fun family weekend cottage. Don't forget you promised me some rhubarb recipes! I bought some at the Farmer's Market this weekend.
Hope your week isn't too tough Nessa.

Good morning, sounds like everyone had a nice weekend and Mother's day! Yesterday was such a windy gusts of 55 mph so we did not venture outside until it died down in the afternoon. Such a rainy weekend but today is supposed to be a great day and the sun is shining already so that is a good sign- everything is flooded so it can dry out now.

I have been eating great and staying onplan, the scale is not moving or it is up and down but I am okay with that as long as I have my eating under control. I made cookies for DD soccer dinner tonight and did not touch one single bite and the best news I was not even tempted to do so, so I know my cravings are gone. So eventually the evil scale will move down hehe

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning, everyone!

Cottage: Enjoy WATP! Hope you have a nice day with the girls in spite of the wet weather. Your Mother's Day sounded just lovely!

Ruth: Bake away my dear! Hope you catch up to Claire quickly! I'm sure it won't be a competition once you get started.

Natalie'sMom: Good luck getting everything in order before you have to go back to work! Have a nice Monday!

Cyndi: Congrats on your NSV!! Honestly, isn't how we feel and how healthy we are much more important than what the scale says? I'm sure any good doc would agree!

Nessa: I hope that the rain stops soon and that the flooding isn't too bad. Hope you have a good week.

TwynnB: Congrats on your loss and on your baby sleeping through the night! Have a nice day at work.

Schmoodle: Hope the doc can find out what's wrong with DD's stomach. I hope the dentist goes well also.

Pearl: Congrats on not giving in to cookie temptation! I'm sure the scale will be moving soon with your determination!

Me: Well, weighed in this morning at 206 which means that I've finally rid myself of all of that horrible sodium from Friday. That took forever! Five more days of P1 for me. I really don't care if I lose another pound this week, as long as my eating is 100% clean and I get my workouts in. As you can see, I earned a sad face yesterday for not working out, so back on track today!!

Work will be work - busy as usual, then I'll come home, throw a taco bake in the oven, workout and then eat dinner and straighten the house a bit. Back to the weekly grind! So, I'm off to water the plants and then get ready for work! Have a great one!
