Default the new "The Most Decadent Diet Ever " cookbook!!!!

I just picked this book up as well, and i am really excited to start making this food. it's by devin alexander, author of the Biggest Loser cookbook. It allows you to have things like chocolate molten cake (my fav)..bacon cheeseburgers, rigatoni, fettucine, chocolate chip pancakes...brownie sundaes!!!!! can't wait! and they're only 300 calorie meals...so you don't have to feel guilty. this way if you get a craving for some sweet chocolate or juicy dripping bbq burgers...you can have it! mmmm... Everyone should get this book..you can entertain for dinner and still stick to your plan because no one will know you've cooked them diet food!

This sounds too good to be true! Chocolate chip pancakes make me weep with joy.

But how do so many calories get cut? Is everything sweetened with fake sugar? And are the portion sizes reasonable?

Tell us how the recipes are. I was checking this very book out when I ordered the new Hungry Girl book.

Default okay

the recipes have fewer calories than we're used to because it's based on "portion control" and using healthier ingredients than we usually would use. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves food and finds it hard to stick to a diet because it gets old. i was on the 3 hour diet...and the food was just okay, and i lost a lot of weight, but then i started back tracking because the food was starting to taste gross to me , it was the same stuff over and over, and not satisfying. i couldn't eat angel food cake and be satisfied every day. so i just picked this up. you can have stuff like banana chocolate sundae for breakfast, or breakfast sausage biscuits, cranberry pancakes...the best desserts and scrumptious meals. i will post a couple recipes up on here tomorrow hopefully for you guys so you can try them out to see what you think. any luck with anything for you so far??

I have Lickety Split Recipes for Health Concious People on the go and love it. It has great recipes w/o processed ingredients. Very healthy, and it shows what to serve w/ the meal to round it out (veggies, protein). My fav recipe book ever. And yes,...there's also a dessert section.

So what recipes have you made from this book? What is good? Still contimplating purchasing it.

I want the book now,...but a review on Amazon said it required some odd ingredients and we don't have Trader Joe-type stores around here. Maybe I'll check it out at the library and find out for myself.

She used to, or maybe still does have a cooking show on Discovery Health. Here's the link to some of her recipes. I agree with the previous poster that it is mainly portion control and lowfat recipes from my recollection.

Oh yeah, I've seen her a few times. I've never wanted to make anything that I saw her make.

Portion control is the key. I've been calorie counting for just over a year and I've had anything and everything, in moderation:-). That cookbook sounds like a nice addition to my collection.
