I haven't posted in about a kabillion years, so hello to all the newbies!
Well, I had my surgery on April 15th and at almost three weeks out, I am down 18 pounds which thrills me to bits. But I'm struggling right now with protein drinks and pureed foods and it has me down in the dumps today. It's so hard to eat things that don't look good or drink things that don't taste good when I'm not really even hungry. I know that the mood swings are par for the course this early out, but it is still difficult for me as I'd been on cloud nine till yesterday. Yeah, I knew all of this going in, but the reality of it is still hard even though I knew parts of it would be. I know this will pass and will just be glad when it does.
All in all, I'm very happy I had this surgery and just have to get over this one hump for now!
Kimberly: Congrats on your WLS. Hang in there because it does get better. Seems like all you get done doing is eating and drinking, right?!?!? It is so worth it. 18 pounds you will never see again. Welcome to the loser bench. Everyone scoot over we have another BIG LOSER!!!
you will not drink your protein like you should if you dont find one you like. i drink gladiator from smoothie king. check them out and see if you can get a good one. congratulations.
I ordered the sample pack of protein shakes from bariatriceating.com. It was good to have a variaty to choose from...I get bored easily but with this I didn't!
Don't worry about the Beginning Blues, they'll pass...just walk, drink and take good care of yourself.
And be sure to come and visit us here! It helped me so much!

Thank you for the advice! I've been feeling a bit better today though I have been struggling through some of the Hibernation Syndrome. It's so funny. I read about this stuff and then I forgot about it until I started going through it!
I'm Florida bound for a week on Saturday and am looking forward to lots of walking and lots of relaxing!
