Default calling all sonoma dieters!!

hi there! i just started wave 1 of the sonoma diet yesterday and am trying to find a good support group, but i'm having no luck i'm afraid. it looks like there's a handful of sd'ers on here, but no one is banding together. so, i'm calling out all sonoma dieters to see if we can get a good support system in place.

if you'd like to join, just post a little ditty about yourself (how long on diet, experiences with diet, whatever personal info you'd like to include, etc). here's the lowdown on me...

name: rochelle
location: st. louis, mo
how long on diet: 2 days now on wave 1...well, 1.5 days really.
experiences so far: good so far, but have a while to go
family: married with 1 son, 9 mos
career: photographer/business owner
hobbies/favorite activities: of course taking lots of pictures, scrapbooking, cooking, being outside, taking in movies and reading books when i have time and listening to music.

well, that's about it for me. i hope we can get a nice little sd group going here soon. it'll be nice to be able to share our ups and downs and maybe even get to know each other really well. then we can all plan a trip to sonoma one day.

take care,
ro

Hi Ro -Sorry to say this board is pretty inactive. Not sure you'll get any nibbles from people on this plan. I just wanted to welcome you to 3FC though.

name: Wendy
location: Silver City, NM
how long on diet: Two weeks religiously on, then got the flu for over a week and fell off the wagon. I was off for maybe 6 weeks and am now starting back up. I say I was off for 6 weeks but I did continue to include some of the recipes.
experiences so far: The first ten days I lost 8 lbs (about halfway to my target weight) I think the diet can definitely work if your family goes along with it and if you can find recipes you don't get tired of (a good variety of recipes)
family: husband and 23 month old daughter
career: home now, helping with my husband's business
hobbies/favorite activities: Anything I have time for while I'm trying to keep up with my daughter!

I'd love to talk to anyone. I'm out searching for new recipes!

This is a lifestyle change not a weight loss diet. You can reach your goals if you just do what they tell you. I am a member of the online sonoma site and if you just follow the recipes they give you or make reasonable substitues it WILL work. I have no doubt.

Hi, am really very new here. I joined 3FC's in Jan 08, but am just getting serious about losing weight now. I pretty much eat what is encouraged in the Sonoma book, just too much of it. I need to eat healthy food for my health issues, but I REALLY need to work on portion control and get my wight DOWN.
Some of my issues are that I had a stroke a number of years ago, and as a result I am pretty inactive. Even when I am active, it's tough to burn enough calories to seriously lose weight. Also, living alone doesn't help; most recipes are for 6 or 4 people, and I don't have a lot of money so as to waste food.
OK, so other than that, YES, I am really commited to starting and sticking to a new way of eatting. Any help, ideas, support (other than spam) would be most appreciated!!!
