Zatarain's red bean and rice is only 3 pts per cup after preparing if you don't use butter. This is an awesome meal. I use Hebrew National 94% FF hot dogs which are 1 pt each with them as my meat. Yummy. I think I may try some lean ham next time.

Cool! I love Zatarain's. I've made the dirty rice with ground turkey in the past. I wonder how that would work out points, wise.

My mom and sister were talking about the Hebrew National hotdogs. I might have to get some for dh & I next time we want hotdogs.

I love the Zatarain's beans and rice mixes! One of my very favorite meals is bean and rice tacos. I take one serving of the beans and rice, and put it in two or three small soft taco shells (the ones I use are 1 pt each). I also use 1 serving of light sour cream. Then I just steam a cup or two of 0-pt veggies on the side, and yum, a filling and very tasty meal!

I use bean and rice tacos as a meal to "treat" myself without going off my points plan. It feels like a splurge without really being one! :-)
