Default Proud of myself!

I don't usually pat myself on the back, but today something really good happened to me.

I left home really early in the morning and didn't come home until 5 pm. I had breakfast and lunch, but I was really hungry when I came home. When I walked in the house there were 3 huge boxes of pizza on the table, DH had a friend over and they had decided to get food, and to top it all they went to one of my favorite places for pizza.

I opened all the boxes and they all smelled so good. Then I continued into the kitchen, took some frozen veggies out, heated them up in the microwave, added some grilled chicken to it, mixed some chopped tomatoes, some sliced olives, added some broccoli slaw, some light ranch dressing and a few drops of hot sauce. I sat down right next to the boxes of pizza and ate my veggies & chicken. I finished and was completely satisfied and never touched the pizza.

I couldn't believe it, I still can't believe it! I don't know what got into me, but I was so happy I wasn't even tempted!

Nice job!! Your chicken sounds way better than that greasy, carb-laden pizza.

YAY! Way to go!

That chicken dish sounds delicious, anyway. Much better than greasy pizza.

They sell the bags at the supermarket, usually where the bags of baby carrots are. It's broccoli hearts shredded and mixed in with carrots and red cabbage, it's really good and so convenient. I use them in salads, stir fries, wraps, etc. They also have a "rainbow" mix, which has cauliflower and broccoli hearts, carrots and red cabbage.

Thanks everybody!

It did feel really, really good to be able to pass on the pizza. It's not usually that easy for me to walk away from tempting food. Maybe the good habits are finally sinking into me!
