Default Oh my gosh..I need help...

Today is Shawarma Day here at work...I LOVE THEM....I have been SOOOOO good and have really stuck to my exercise and watching what I eat but the shawarma's are calling me...I am going to the gym at 2:00...do I get one and work it off...I am currently doing Slim Fast and wouldn't you know it...Shawarma's are NOT on the plan...if I have one for lunch, I will have a shake for supper....what to do ladies??!!!! My mouth is WATERING for one!!

I had to google this to even see what it is but now I totally want one.

I wouldn't have the commercial one but you can make a really healthy version of this at home very easily. Plan it for a healthy meal rather than an impulse splurge.

Well...I went down to the cafeteria to get one....and willpower took over and turned away. I am back at my desk with my shake and will be going to the gym at 2:00 as planned...YAY for me

Once you have had one..you are totally addicted...but..I held back. I feel good about it too!

Yummm, shwarma. Good for you for resisting. Now that it's over and done with, I'm sure you're thrilled and the urge has passed. There's a time and a place for shwarma and this was not it. You can have it at another time. It is so much better to have stayed on plan!!!

mmmm I love shawarmas. You went through what I did this morning, except for me it was pizza. Don't you feel good for holding back!

I guess they wouldn't be too bad without all the garlic sauce, but that's the best part.

I know..it's the garlic sauce that gets my mouth watering! We had 2 birthday parties here this week. I said no to cake both days! I ate some fruit instead....the cake yesterday was even sugar free (the girl is diabetic) and I still said no...I am over the shawarma now...besides..it's closed now anyway so I am off to the gym...

I wouldn't have done the same, haha! BUT, that's only because my husband is Holland.. and those are HUGE there.. and they don't sell any where I'm from. So, I would have had it because I haven't had any in years, and it would have been a treat.

But, YOU did an awesome job.

Shawarma (Arabic: شاورما‎ or Hebrew: שווארמה‎, also spelled Chawarma, Shwarma, Shuarma, Shawerma, Shoarma or Shaorma) is a Middle Eastern-style sandwich usually composed of shaved lamb, goat, or chicken. Less commonly, it contains turkey, beef, or a mixture of meats. Shawarma is a popular dish and fast-food staple across the Middle East, and is consumed across the rest of the world as well. Shawarma is known as guss in Iraq; it is related to the gyros of Greece. Gyros, however, is typically made of pork meat, or less commonly chicken, although beef or lamb is usually used outside Greece and Cyprus. The classic shawarma combination is pita bread, hummus, tomato & cucumber, and of course the shawarma. The additional toppings include tahini and amba.

I dance in a Greek restaurant on the weekends. I don't eat dinner before the evening dance sets (don't want to feel bloated) and I have to dance and watch everyone eating gyros (almost the same thing as shawarma) and stuffed grape leaves, baklava, hummus, and all of the other stuff.

I feel your pain....
