Default All I want to do is go home and eat.

I'm leaving the office in about an hour and all I can think about is getting to *eat* when I go home. I have some chores to do (laundry) and also some crafty projects I want to get started on. Also, I had planned to exercise tonight. Yet, all I can even think of doing is going home and stuffing my face. (And loafing on the couch in front of the tv.)

Fortunately my dinner is already cooked, so I have something (relatively) healthy to eat when I get there.

How do you all handle these over whelming feelings of greed and sloth?

Hi Again,
The best place to start is with a Food Plan. Take a piece of paper and make three columns. At the top write Red Foods, Yellow Foods and Green Foods.
List all your red foods you know "the binge foods", then list your yellow foods, they are ok maybe you will have some concerns but you're not sure and then the green foods, the healthy foods you like.
Next take a another piece of paper and write out your menu, just for one day and no more. It might look like: Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner.
Then fill in the foods and stick to it, but no Red foods.
You may have some withdrawal for 3 days but this stops the CRAVINGS you are feeling today. They are horrible.
I started by writing my daily food plan in a journal.
That's it, it is simple but not easy. Give it a try.

All I really can say it that it is hard.

And...have you had enough water to drink today? I know this is said over and over again but your body maybe thirsty.

OR

Did you have a stressful day? Is this something other than food? Are you nervous for any reason?

Hey there-
Sounds like a great time to use the tools:
-call your sponsor
-call another OA member
-read OA books
-pray
-write about how you're feeling
-find something else to do that keeps your hands and mind busy (I knit)
-listen to an OA speaker on a CD or online
-go to a meeting

Hey guys

Thanks for the suggestions. I am not formally a part of OA yet so I don't have a sponsor or an abstinence plan yet. The idea of making the lists with the red/yellow/green foods is a good one I will have to try!
