Talking I'm home!!

Hello hello everyone,

As some of you may know I had my lap band surgery today. I was freaking out for no reason. The anesthesiologist was great, first he gave me something to relax me, than I felt a little drunk, than I was in the operating room, he said "take three deep breaths, you won't remember the third" and sure enough what seemed like 10 seconds later, I woke up in the recovery area.

All I wanted was something to drink, I was soooooo thirsty and still continue to be! I'm trying to drink my water slowly because it sure doesn't feel good if you drink it to fast.

I also got a new band that's on the market, the Realize Band, I was one of three of her patients that got it.

I definately feel the gas in my whole abdominal area, but, other than that I'm great! I think I might actually work from home tomorrow.

I greatly appreciate everyone's kind words and support. This is truly an amazing group of people

Default congrats!

i'm glad things went well for you and you feel great. i don't have my lapband yet, but i'll bet it's advisable to take it easy for awhile until your body gets used to your new eating habits, etc.

my surgeon uses the realize band along with the other one. would you mind sharing why you chose that one over the other?

keep us updated on your progress. i'm taking notes!

blessings!

To be honest the main reason why I chose the realize band is because of the low profile port. I am not really really top heavy, I carry most of my weight in my hip, legs, butt area. I was afraid the port would be visible after significant weight loss. Plus the website the have created is pretty cool. I haven't really gotten into it just yet but I think I might take at it today.

Welcome Home

I'm glad your feeling great but (and you can say shut up Mother lolol), please be careful... your insides need to heal so relax for the next 6 weeks and listen to your doctor, no matter how hungry or full of energy you get (small price to pay considering all you just went though). Last thing you need it to damage / tear something inside.. okay love Trust me !!!!

Welcome to bandland

Congratulations on your surgery - it'll be SO worth it all!

Yes, do take it easy for awhile - I tried to progress too fast without even realizing it.

Thank you, thank you everybody. I've had a couple of days to recover and I feel much better. The first day I got home I felt like I was able to rule the world, the next day...the pain settled in. I'm sooooo glad I filled my prescription, although liquid medicine is pretty nasty.

I've been good, sticking to the rule of not eating anything thicker than pudding or yogurt.

I have a question...when does the gas leave your system? It traveled to my shoulders like they said it would but now it's settled into my stomach area. Just wondering when anyone felt any kind of relief?

Default Ouch!!

Now this ain't fun as I remember. Hon, just keep moving. Some will be absorbed and some will need to go out your "pooter", that is why it is important to keep moving.
