Default When will I stop looking like a bowling pin?

I know someone else posted about this several months back, and I know there were responses promising that as the weight drops off, we become more proportional. So - any ideas when that might happen?

I went to Wal-Mart tonight and they had long-sleeved T-shirts on clearance for $2. I decided to pick one up, but they didn't have mediums. So, I grabbed one labeled S (4/6) with the intention to wear it when I had lost more weight. When I got home, however, I discovered that it actually fits quite nicely. It's snug - so there's actual proof that my wasit is smaller than my bustline - but not tight or uncomfortable at all. Granted, it's a Wal-Mart size, and I usually wear size 8, but still...

So right now, I'm wearing a size 4/6 top and a pair of size 12 jeans (also Wal-Mart). I actually have a relatively small waist, but I worry that it only makes my thighs and hips look all the more disproportionately large. I want to lose at least twenty more pounds, and I'm hoping to lose thirty. Maybe those pounds will start to come off the saddlebags and the bedonkadonk???

LaurieDawn congrats on the size small top! That's fabulous.

You will not believe how much of a difference those last 5 lbs will make right before goal. Yet alone the last 20. The lowest weight I ever remember myself as an adult, and barely one, is in the high 130's. At that weight I had saddlebags beyond belief and a huge behind. Now that I am in the 120's, well they're gone, gone, gone. I always thought it was just my body shape. Uh-uh, it was fat. I'm also thinking exercise has helped immensely.

Don't forget to keep on exercising. That can do wonders for you as well. There are still huge changes coming to your body with another 20-30 lbs to lose. Huge. You are doing phenomenal. Hang tough. I'm sure you look fantastic. Just fantastic. Though believe it or not , there are still MORE rewards yet to come. Keep up the amazing work.

So do you think my never-ending battle with pants (waist too big, butt too tight) will end if I get myself to "normal" weight? That would make the whole thing worth it right there - I hate shopping for jeans or pants because I have to buy stuff that really doesn't fit.

It always amazes me how I'll be going through something or thinking or wondering about something, and someone on 3fc will post about it!
I've lost all over, 55 lbs., but I can still wear my size 22 jeans from when I started. Now I have 16s, and they fit much better, but I just woulda thought that after losing that much the old jeans would just fall right off. Sometimes I don't feel like there's much difference at all. So yesterday I took all my jeans, 14s, 16s, and 22s to the only full length mirror in the house to try and figure out what was going on. The 22s are very baggy, but they still don't fall off. I realized it's just that I still have a very big butt and hips to hold them up! And I was pleased to discover I can get the 14s on and zipped, although I need a few more pounds before they'll be comfortable. I think I will always be curvy, but it's good to hear from you chicks that this might even out eventually! So here's from one bowling pin to another!

For me, it was my waist. As I looked at my measurements, everything else was losing faster (hips, ribcage, thighs) but my waist was very stubborn. For the longest time, my waist kept me in a medium pant/skirt/dress while everything else was a small (including my hips!). My waist went from 29" to 27" with the last 10 lbs, nothing else reduced so substantially during that period!
