Default you would be amazed

You would be absolutely amazed at how much better you feel and how much weight you will lose cutting sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and partically hydrogenated oils out of your diet.

Sugar can be easy with the BOOM of Splenda, but the oils and corn syrups can be tricky.

The majority of sodas, fruit juices, and canned goods have HFCS in them as a sweetner and to prolong their shelf life.

Tip for reducing HFCS: read label carefully and try to eat mostly natural, even kraft fat free ranch has high fructose corn syrup as the SECOND ingredient (but hidden valley does not). **just google the dangers of HFCS you'll be shocked**

Tip for reducing partically hydrogenated oils: SMART BALANCE...I love the brand. The light butter, the mayo (which other brands have both the oils and HFCS), and a cooking oil are all natural and you'll never taste the difference.

Thanks for listening to my surgeon generals warning haha. I was just shocked at the "CRAP" for lack of a better word that is going into my body! If anything cut the HFCS and partically hydrogenated oils!

I'd add artificial sweeteners to that list too.

Hmm...your post reminds me of how I can't wait for the farmers market to open so I can buy lots of fresh non crappy food (that doesn't cost stupid prices that the organic store costs).

I am attempting to do the same thing!! It is really hard! I have been purchasing the Ken's brand of light ranch dressing (i wish i liked something on salad other than ranch!!) and that brand does not have the HFCS. I had been using Kraft... big no-no!

One of my co-workers brought in some of her nutrisystem leftover meals to share because she was done with the program but had leftover food that she didn't care for much... i ate a meatloaf & mashed potato meal for lunch yesterday... THEN read the box to find partially hydrogenated oil, HFCS and modified food starch! UGH!

yeah, it's so hard to avoid these things. They are in EVERYTHING!

yesitsmeagain: I can't wait for our farmers market to open either! I am counting down the days..it's open now, but only has breads and cheeses and such. I want some fresh tomatoes...BRING ON SUMMER!

SoulBliss: I agree 100%. I stick to splenda since it's just a brokendown sugar compound.

This is something I've been trying to do and it is very difficult. They put HFCS in everything, literally. It's even in my corn flakes and my raisin bran. It is especially difficult when you have children. Everything they want, fruit snacks and the like, has HFCS. Thankfully my children love fruits and veggies. I never read the salad dressing labels. I don't use ranch and I will eat my salad plain most of the time. I'm really going to start reading labels. Thanks for posting this topic.

http://www.stophfcs.com/list.html

This website has a list of foods that have no HFCS. I just found it when I googled HFCS like you said. WOW is all I can say. It's amazing how one product can be linked to an obesity outbreak.
