How Much Breakfast?
You hear it all the time--you have to eat breakfast to get your metabolism started for the day. But how many calories do I need to eat and how long after getting up to make the most of this?
Usually what I do now is eat a piece of fruit or a light n' fit yogurt within half an hour of getting up. Then I wait until I feel a bit hungry to do my normal breakfast--one piece of toast with some margarine and strawberry jam and one egg over easy, plus coffee (I start drinking my water for the day after the first cup of coffee). If it's a workout day (every other day), I eat the fruit, then do my workout and take a shower and drink at least two full glasses of water before doing my normal breakfast.
I just wonder if there's a minimum number of calories your metabolism needs to "wake up" or if I should be eating more before I work out.
