Default Kickboxinggggggg

Well, I had my first kickboxing class last night. I was proud of myself...at first I was nervous and didn't want to do it, but I MADE myself go into the class.

She started off by making us run around the room to get our heartrate up. I was the biggest girl in there and she wanted me to run?? I was so annoyed and really thought it wasn't for me, but I pushed myself and HAD A BLAST!

I noticed that I am more in shape that I thought because some of the skinnier girls were all out of breath and I was fine! Maybe they were working harder than me, but I felt good about myself. We weren't allowed to stop moving..so I moved non-stop for 60 minutes. If we stopped me had to do pushups, but no one stopped.

I was so sore when I got home, but took some advil and I feel fine today. I am thinking of taking like 5 different classes now. THEY ARE SO FUN!

That does sound fun. After 60 minutes, I'd probably drop dead. Good for you!

I joined a kickboxing gym too, last night we did circuit training and now my butt and legs feel they got ran over but it's so worth it because when I go to class and I push myself i really do notice a difference. My gym is also great because they have a separate gym for weights and cardio too. Congrats on joining the kickboxing bandwagon!

Way to freakin' go! It's awesome feeling all empowered like that. You've inspired me, I think I'll see what classes the gym at my university offers.

Yaaay!! I'm glad you liked it! I love love love kickboxing.
I hate it when they make us run in classes too cause I think "uuuhh I'm taking this class so I dont have to make myself run."
But yeah, I guess its good for us.

haha

The only thing I don't like is that this is just a class that is offered at my gym. So I do believe that she does the same thing everytime, since anyone can come..its not like it gets more advanced because there is always new people. That can get boring, so I am going to switch it up and try different classes.

my bf and i planned a weekend pre-valentines trip to niagara this weekend, and all i could think was "bummer - i'm gonna miss my kickboxing class on friday!"

i'm glad you enjoyed it! isn't it empowering??? my instructor made us do that drill that football players have to do all the time: where you get down into a crouching stance and run in place as fast as you can! It was killer! I also had the same observation: the skinny girls get winded to. It makes me feel good that i can keep up just as well as they can!

haha yes, double timing...we had to do that too. WOW that was hard, especially when she made is do it into the middle of the room and back..back and forth like that for a whole min.

I never new 60 seconds could be so long.

Good for you! I don't know if I would have been able to keep going for a full 60 minutes. Very intimidating...haha.
