Hi. I jumped boards. I was wondering if any of you ladies have had kids in your 40s? My obesity keeps me from getting pregnant, one of the reasons I want to get the weight off. I'm not sure if I blew my opportunity or not for having children.

Would you do it over again? Did you have a rough time in getting pregnant?
Do people give you a hard time, because, according to "some" people, you "should" be a grandma? I don't agree to that line of thinking.

I had two kids in my forties. I've heard that having children later in life is easier because you are probably smarter, (you've seen/heard all of the tricks and games they can play) you may have more patience, and typcially are more financially stable. BUT, it's also harder having children later in life because you can get fatigued more easily (no matter what your age, nobody likes those late night service calls from a wee one), and it's possible a lot of your close friends have already had their kids, so they are on to the next stage in their lives.

Bottom line, if you want kids, do what you can to make that possible. I got a lot of support from another forum - Ovusoft- which sprung from a great book you can buy or get from the library, "Taking Charge of your Fertility"
