Red face New Here

Hey I'm new here

I'm a student living at home and sadly I'm the only "big" person in the family..I've tried dieting before but it's only lasted a total of 6 days..It gets hard because my mom buys all these snacks and when I know it's there it tempts me. Today is the day I stop bull****ting myself and I'm actually going to try to make a change. My 20th birthday is in about 6 months and hopefully I'll be able to loose some weight.

To be honest I'm scared that I'm going to let myself down. That is the reason why I joined this support group. I'm really shy and I feel awkward talking about my weight issues with my family and even my closest friends. And I'm happy that I found this website where I can meet people that are going through the same thing as I am.

Welcome and congrats on making the decision! Making the decision, imho, is the hardest part. Do you have a weight loss plan? There are lots of boards on 3FC devoted to particular weight loss approaches (low carb, calorie counting, etc).

Good luck to you!

Hey, and

Yes, do share what sort of plan you're going to be following! We have something for EVERYONE here, so just look around or ask and someone will point you in the right direction.

Sometimes it helps not to think of what you're doing as a "diet". I chose to think of this as changing my lifestyle. It wasn't some arbitrary thing that I can go on and off of...it was small changes to the way I ran my everyday life, that added up to big results! So pick some small things, make the changes, and then go from there.

Can't wait to see you around more soon!

Thanks I already feel welcome..
it may take me a while because this website is a bit tricky to navigating
I thought I'd try the smash fat diet..the first 6 days are brutal because its the detox phase so im going to be eating fruits and veggies for the next 9 days..which is going to be hard because my family eats meat a lot (like almost every day)..but i have 3fc for my support so i'll be good.

Have you found our Fat Smash diet forums yet? We have plenty of Fat Smashers here, and talking to those on the same plan (and who've been through that first six days!) can be awesome.

good to meet you, breathe me! You've definitely come to the right place. I only have a few people in my life that I can talk to in person about my struggles with my weight. But I find loads and loads of information and support here. Just keep coming back!

Red face

Hello all - I am new here as well. I am trying to get my life back. I have been overweight most of my life. Back before I got married, I was probably 30-40 overweight, but I was happy. I have been married almost 5 years and I since then, I have gained probably 100+ lbs. I want to be happy with myself again. I need to get serious and get back to the person I was without letting the self sabotage stop me because that has been another problem for me in the past. I look forward to getting to know everyone here in this journey I have ahead of me ...
