I DO NOT hate my current job. But it's SO high stress... I am constantly sick, I call my job the binge trigger... There should be more than one person working her, but there is never enough money for the department etc etc etc. I've asked for raises, which again triggers the answer "not enough money yada yada". I do the work of two or even three people for way less than I should. But it's steady and it's secure.

I have had quite a few people from other departments begging me to post for their postions... and I finally took the jump.

I can't believe I did it. Now I'm a little scared. Sure my job is EXTREMELY stressful - but I knew the job inside and out and I KNOW everyone is going to be a little freaked out if I leave.

I need a little encouragement LOL.

Hi Tamara (from another Tamara CoLynn), Wow! I could have posted this... I am in quite similar circumstances. I had a call from a former co-worker wanting to know what it would take to get me to come work for them. So I went and talked to them earlier this week. Not sure if they can meet my salary requirements or not, and if they can, I'm not sure whether I want to leave this job or not.

It sounds like you are feeling like I am, COMFORTABLE (at least with the aspects of the job duties). Maybe it's time for a change. On the other hand, if you are offered the new job, could you negotiate for more help or a salary increase at your current job? If they're freaked out at the thought you of leaving, that would be the time to try to negotiate something that would make you want to stay. Just a thought.

Change is always scary, but it could be a great thing!
