Default Weather & Scale Effects?

So, I have this really great HealthMeter scale, tracks weights for 2 ppl as well as the ups and downs, so no math on my part. As a nursing student, and mother of 2 children under the age of 4, anything that makes my life easier, is A-OK in my book. Anyway, in the process of moving, the scale got stashed in the back window of our car. And forgotten about. And forgotten about. For ummm, 3 weeks? We were in the midst of a heat wave and when I remembered, I immedietely tested the scale by getting on it, well my weight hadnt changed. In 3 weeks, no biggie, new school semester, new town, establishing new house, we had eaten out a bit more than normal, not getting enough water. It could be a stall. 3 months later, it still says the same thing and I've gone down 2 sizes. Now, I do believe you can lose inches but not "scale weight", but this is seeming hinkey. Is it possible the sun and heat broke the scale although it seems to be displaying fine?

Do you have a friend or family member nearby with a scale that you could check out?

You could do an experiment. Get a small dumbbell (if you have one) and set it on the scale after it 000s out. If it reads accurately the number of pounds the dumbbell is, it's probably working okay...if not, looks like you should pick up a new scale!

If it has a battery, then you could try changing the battery. It may have cooked. I've read other posts from members whose batteries were going, and their weight seemed to be stuck.

yeah I'd weigh with someone's scale to get a good idea of how off yours really is, and if it is off, I agree - I'd try replacing the battery. Or better yet, before spending any money on it just call the manufacturer and ask them! Let them figure it out, they made it right!

Unfortunately it may be something more then the battery - I would imagine a lot of the sensors would get fried if exposed for that long.

you can test it on a 5 lb bag of sugar too. Plus new batteries always helps mine if it acts fishy.
