First, let me just say that I'm new to the boards and think you guys are a wonderful group! My intro is posted in the Profiles thread, but just quickly - I'm a 28 year old mom of 4 year old b/g twins. I was 150 pre-pregnancy and reached my highest weight of 245 a couple weeks ago. (It's gone steadily up since 2003). Anyway.......
So this morning, Day 3, I step on the scales and couldn't believe my blurry morning eyes. I was down another 3 pounds - that's 5 since Day 1's weigh-in. I weighed myself 4 times to be sure I was seeing it right!
At this point in dieting, I know that it's just water weight, but I'll take anything I can get right now!! LOL Just seeing the numbers budge is a great motivator, especially with all the soda and junk in the house right now!
Hello and welcome. So glad to have you here. 4 year old twins. Wow, they must keep you busy.
Congrats on the weight loss. Gotta love those first week losses. Hang tough and stick with it, cause the second week, the 5th week, the 12th week and every single week with a loss is pretty darn lovable as well.
And helloooo, why not get the soda and the junk out of the house? Your kids surely don't need it, neither does your husband. Get rid of it. In time, no one will miss it and EVERYONE will benefit, greatly. Good luck to you!!
Cheryl: Thanks for the welcome and the encouragement.
Robin: LOL, you're completely right. After reading your post, I immediately went to the frig and poured 3 liters of soda down the drain. Thanks for the wake-up call!!
Four year old twins? I bow before you! I just have one 4 year old in the house and today he made me !!! Sounds like you have had a few really awesome days on plan!! Keep it up!
Hooray, I agree, who cares if it's water or not, whatever it was it was on you and now it's not! My highest weight was the same as yours. Now let's make a pact, we'll never see that number on the scale again!
Robin: LOL, you're completely right. After reading your post, I immediately went to the frig and poured 3 liters of soda down the drain. Thanks for the wake-up call!!
Way to go! If we don't have it in the house, then we very well can't eat/drink it. I think it's really important to set ourselves up for success. Ridding the house of the junk is a HUGE step. But don't forget to ADD in good, healthy low cal things. Set yourself up for success.
Congratulations on your loss, you're doing a great job! And WTG on pouring out the soda, that's great! Like Robin said, set yourself up for success as much as you can. If you're set up for success, failure is much harder to come by!
Jen415: I would gladly live in a world run by Stewie, LOL
Sheila: Thanks! These boards have been a big help already.
Midwife: LOL, yes, the twins make me insane at times!! I don't know what's got into them the past couple weeks, but they have been absolute monsters! Where oh where did my good children go??
Schmoodle: If I ever see that number again, I'll cry. 245 is just not who I am, but it's who I've let myself become. I'm really that girl who weighed 150 back in the day. She's still in here somewhere under all these folds and I'm determined to find her!
Sandi: Thanks! Everyone has given me such a warm welcome.
Gale02: I couldn't believe I dumped it all! Soda, even diet, has become a huge addiction for me. It's pretty cool though, after drinking all this water the past few days I don't even miss it!
