Talking Hi, just wanted to introduce myself!

Hi,

My name is Carolyn. i have just refound this site. i stumbled on it ages ago and then lost it, but have now miraculously found it.

My husband has just had gastric bypass and i have an appointment for assessement with the surgeon for the 19th October for the lap band.

H was 180kg/186cm pre surgery, i am 140kg/175cm.

I have been reading through all of your posts and found them really helpful. H is offically one week post surgery today and is really struggling with tiredness. I/we had no idea that he should be trying for 15gm of protein every three hours. The dietician at the hosptial never mentioned it at all!

so anyway, i just wanted to say Hi! and introduce myself.

Thanks

Carolyn

nice to see you again, carolynn! and glad that your husband is doing pretty well. fatigue after surgery is very common - there's a whole lot of healing going on!!!

that 15 grams of protein every 3 hours was what worked FOR ME - the only instructions i received [and they were pretty standard] was to get 80-100 grams of protein in per day - and take in not more than 20-25 grams at any one time.

as the weeks went on, i realized that if i didn't get that 15 grams every three hours, things just didn't work right. your husband - and everyone else for that matter - has to figure out what works for him/them. and be sure to drag the surgeon into this discussion.

keep us posted!!!!
