Default Diet pills while nursing?

Hey ladies,
Does anyone know if there are any diet pills, fat blockers, herbs etc that are safe to take to assist with weight loss while breastfeeding?

None of the diet pills, fat blockers, and herbs really work anyhow...and they have risks of side effects. It all boils down to taking in less calories, and getting more physical activity. Save your money-and no side effects for the baby!

It is just a waste of money to take this stuff. They teach you nothing and can kill you or your baby - remember phen-phen? Eat less and move more.

I'm studying dietetics in school right now, we've been talking about breastfeeding right now actually. Many, many herbs are strongly discouraged during pregnancy/lactation.. they can adversely effect baby's brain/etc development in utero and later. Fat blockers aren't too good an idea either, as it's extremely important baby gets adequate fat content in the milk (make sure you eat the right kinds though - monounsaturated and polyunsaturated).

you really should watch what you consume while breastfeeding..otherwise you pose a risk to your baby. Eat healthy, exercise more and you should see results...remember lactation requires a higher calorie intake to meet your babies needs. I highly recommend just eating more fresh fruits veggies, lower you red meat consumption and eat more whole grains..you and your baby would be better off from it.
