Hi All!
I am 56 years old (in good health) and I am going to Weight Watchers...I'm a WW lifetime member who is over goal by 30 pounds (I'm at 165 lbs and want to be 135 lbs - I'm 5' 2"). I've realized that one thing that is going to help my sluggish metabolism is to improve my overall muscle tone and strength (I've typically done a lot of walking and WATP tapes). I have the flabby upper arms, stomach apron, etc.
- not in good shape at all.
I tried Curves (free week), but to be honest, the environment there wasn't what I think I'd really be comfortable with, and I got in on a very good deal to be able to join 24 Hour Fitness. So, I thought I'd try it out (I'm doing the month-to-month membership). I don't care that there are guys there and I am not embarassed about my body - hey, it's a work in progress!! And at least I'm doing something about it (that's the way I feel anyway).
I wasn't sure if anyone here has already created a workout program (or know of one) that I could use at 24 Hour Fitness or if there were some threads here that people could direct me to. Also, I was thinking it would be a good idea to work with a trainer at 24 Hour Fitness a few times to set up a program.
I need to learn how to use the machines at 24 Hour Fitness too. At Curves, you dont' have to change weights on the machines or anything. I'm going to see what other classes are available that I can participate in at 24 Hour. (Edited to say that I'd like to use primarily the machines at first and some free weights, I think...).
Anyway, thanks for any help and suggestions, I appreciate it!! You all are an inspiration to me. Best wishes to everyone on their journeys!
Cheree
