I once ran a 10k in a head-to-toe furry bunny rabbit costume in the middle of summer. It must have turned out to be 15k by the time I was done running back and forth. (I volunteered for "morale booster" for the race. Doh!) That stinkin' (literally when I was done with it ) costume must have had 30 pounds of sweat in it by the end of the race!
I need to come up with a good costume for this upcoming one, though. Hmm...
That sounds like fun! I don't know how you raced in a bunny costume. I dressed up in a dino costume one spring day and almost sweat out every drop of water in my body. Good luck!
Hey DIANE ~ My wife Angie, did the mud run here in southern California, at Camp Pendelton, a few months ago. She loved it, but it was a tough 10K! She can't wait to sign up AGAIN!!
We have men around here? Well, that explains the toilet seat!
Ooh, the CamPen Mud Run! That's tough from what I've heard! Remind me not to cheese off your wife! I was stationed there for a couple of years but that's been a long time ago. I never heard of it while I was there so maybe they didn't have it back then.
My little mud run is just a goofy, fun 5k where they make up the rules as they go along.

GOOD ONE!

Diane, I am not sure how long it has been there but I don't think it's been a long time. I think I first heard of it around '96 but not positive. My daughter tried to get in the race in 2000 with her high school tennis team but it was full. They have it twice a year now, it sells out in hours or less! From what I hear.

I just tried to find some history on when the mud run started, didn't have much luck on that but there are some sites listed if you google Camp Pendleton Mud Run that have videos on you tube...one really shows the mud pit!
