Default Scale devastation

So I have been working really hard to lose weight and have lost about 27lbs so far. Everday I weighted myself on my old el-cheapo scale which was really hard to read due to the small size and lines. As a treat to myself I decided to buy a new digital scale that also measure fat percentage. I was all excited when I stepped on it until I saw that it is showing me being 5lbs heavier!! I seriously wanted to cry! **** I still want to cry!

I am getting married in 3 weeks and was looking forward to being under 170 by the wedding which is pretty unlikely if I think my new scale is accurate. Man this sucks.

Regardless of how much you weigh now, you've still lost 26 lbs which is a WONDERFUL achievement. If you want to adjust your ticker, I'd adjust the starting weight to 5 lbs higher than it is now, and then move up your current weight as well. Maybe you weigh more than you thought... but you've still come a long way!

Hey Shayz,

Lovelypurple is right--you really did lose all that weight. And you would have weighed 5 pounds more to start with, had you had the new scale then. So don't fret about it! It's only a number, and it's one you chose yourself.

Revise your goal to 175 for using the new scale. Or, you can decide to keep using the old scale until the wedding, if you really must see that 170.

Congrats on the loss so far! And on your wedding!

I know it's hard to think of yourself as weighing more, but think of it this way. Your goal for the wedding is to fit in, and look beautiful in, your dress. If you fit in the dress, then does it matter whose scale says what you weigh??

You weigh exactly what you did before you got the new scale, right? It's just that the new scale shows a different number. I like Jay's solution. Use the old scale!

When I go back and forth from our house to our apartment and the house one weighs me 5 pounds more than the apartment. I know it's my real weight and to add in my head the 5 pounds extra when I step of the apartment scale. But I know how you like seeing the lower number.

In the end, it's all just numbers. What's most important is that you've lost weight, you're healthier, and that you have your wedding to look forward to and everyone's going to comment on how wonderful you look in your gown.

You should feel great about your weight loss! And you'll be glowing on your wedding day, so that 5 lbs won't matter.

How much water do you drink? If you up your water intake, it'll help flush out fat and toxins, so eat right and drink your water....

I'd do like the others said and if you REALLY want to see 170 by then just use the old scale. Otherwise, add the 5 pounds in the beginning and go from there. You've still LOST 26 pounds which is awesome!

Despite the inaccurate scale reading, CONGRATULATIONS! You have lost 27 pounds, and you are getting married!!! Both of those are truly awesome! All scales are different, so don't let it discourage you too much. Either way, you've lost the weight. That is a huge accomplishment!
