Default Brewed Coffee

I've been getting Vanilla Nut brewed coffee from my local coffee shop recently. I know that normal brewed coffee doesn't have many calories - but does it matter if it has a distinct flavour to it ? I feel guilty about drinking it

It's the same as regular coffee. Enjoy!

I second that! Coffee is one of those pleasures I refuse to give up!

Thumbs up YAY! for COFFEE!!!

Flavoring itself has no calories. Sugar (in syrups) is what carries calories. But if the flavoring is in the coffee beans, no sweat!! Enjoy!!

Black coffee, with any flavor is always super low in Calories ( I think a cup is something like 10-15 Calories, which saved me a gazillion times in college!), Ahh, such a great and guiltless joy!

Just be sure you don't add alot of extra calories with creamers and sugars. I use Splenda and Sugar Free Creamers in my coffee. only 45 calories per cup!!

Where do you find sugar creamers? I would love to use some of those. Been looking, no luck. I'd consider ordering it online!

do you mean "Sugar Free Creamers"?? I buy the liquid form of like CoffeeMate. I get the Sugar Free French Vanilla. I tried fat free but that wasn't the problem. there were only 10 less calories per tablespoon of fat free. sugar free has only 15 calories per tablespoon. Regular creamer has 45 calories per tablespoon.

whole milk is obviously lower, but for those of us who can tolerate either cream or milk in their coffee...I find you need to put in way more milk to equal the cream..ie I usually use cereal cream at home for my coffee and I am content with 1.5T..whereas with milk I'm putting in probably 3T kwim??

ALso, cereal cream only has 36calories per 2T which is great

Now when I go to timmy's i get milk (bc they only use coffee crm at 18% and with a large coffee that adds up...) but at home I use cereal cream and its a great tradeoff, plus cheaper than coffee cream.

I'm not a fan of the specialty creamers bc I don't like sweetener in my coffee

I personally don't like creamer or whole milk in my coffee at all. Any flavoring in it has to be flavored in the bean. I don't like it all "creamy" but then again, I don't like real whipped cream/whole milk/2% milk, either. I have a dairy aversion, and if I have dairy, it has to be skim milk/nonfat yogurt.

Occasionally I will have a latte (a shot of espresso diluted with steamed milk for any non-coffee drinkers) but it HAS to be skim milk. The creamy "coat the tongue" stuff just grosses me out with dairy.

I am a serious coffee lover (we grind our own beans, have a french press and pressure brewer, etc.) so I usually prefer to drink coffee black, or with a dash of Splenda if it isn't a flavored bean.

The only thing I like in my coffee other than that, is the occasional after dinner drink...a little Frangelico or Irish Cream added.
