I think that 1300 calories is a great place to start. But when you say you burned off 400 calories, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. What are you doing in the exercise front? I find those activity calculators very, very inaccurate. Even the ones that are built into treadmills and the like. So I kind of keep my exercise and calories separate. I eat what I eat and I burn what I burn. 1300 calories and a few days a week of cardio, and a few days of strength training is a great way to start out. As far as specific goals as to what you will lose per week, there really is no way to know for sure. Our bodies are not exact and they will do different things different weeks even if we do the same thing. The only way to know for sure if something is "working" is by sticking to it for a couple of weeks and seeing the results. In other words, trial and error. If you're not getting the results you are looking for then it might be time to change things up a big. 1/2 lb - 2lbs per week weightloss is what one can USUALLY expect.
