I haven't lost all of my gut (my biggest problem area) but losing 20 plus pounds turned it from a gut into a pooch.

Aaaah...my gut 'reduced' a little when I lost 10 lbs before (took 2 months). I squeezed into some old jeans I couldn't fit into before. I can now bend over and almost touch my toes

Ughh - this is my question too! I feel like all my weight is in my stomach. I really understand the term "spare tire". Can't wait to lose it!!

Ditto here!! Today I know my husband was giving me a compliment but it came out wrong as a matter of fact he apologized right away but we both had to laugh. He told me that from my chest up I looked like a skinny girl...I was like geez thanks....but i thought it was kind of funny...he went on to say that he's really seen the change in me and that my stomach has gotten smaller too...i just have to keep working hard i know...all in due time i guess!

Spunkster, I'm the opposite. Even at my heaviest, I looked thinner from the hips down.

I unfortunately carry all my weight in my midsection. I have alot of gut and back fat to lose, arms and legs aren't that bad. I have noticed that 40+ lbs down my stomach no longer sticks out way farther than my boobs(which is a plus!). If you learn a secret to gut loss other than overall dieting and exercise please let me know...'lol.

And spunkster I have you beat for bad compliments... I was told " you're losing some of your gut"...I should be happy though, thats as close to a compliment as I'm going to get from my man.

I feel you wateraddict, I come from a long line of "gutsy" women...pardon the pun My midsection is where I hold almost all of my weight. Its also a risk factor for type II diabetes. Both my mom and my grandmother are/were diabetics (My grandmother died from kidney failure as a result of her diabetes, among other complications). It scares me to death. I can't wait to lose mine also. My shaper from Victoria Secret is my best friend right now. I feel a little more comfortable in some of my clothes with it on.

I also have a problem with my gut, but when I started to lose weight that is where I noticed the most change. When you eat healthy, your waste naturally shrinks.. but it's up to you to work out to make it flat and toned... Just give it time, it'll happen, and it feels great when you finally start to notice it!

I also carry almost all my excess weight in my midsection, and I hate it.

Default Gut!

It has taken me a year and three months to even get my gut to a point where it doesn't look bad. I hate me gut and most of all this is my hardest trouble spot. You have to be patient and as much as I want to wave a magic wand so it can disappear it just takes time. I pray that one day I wake up and its flat and it doesn't bounce when I bounce!

I still have a pooch, but bellydancing has really helped my waist and that whole area. I would give it a try if you're feeling bad about your belly.

I am the queen of belly... sigh. I still have a long way to go, but i can already see a difference. Pilates is fantastic i think, by strengthening your back and core muscles it automatically starts pulling everything in.

I guess I'm lucky waist-wise. I started at 33" and I'm now down to 26". My waist was the first thing to go. For me, it's my thighs that are taking their sweet time (although with the heavy beating I give them daily on the elliptical, they're FINALLY starting to come around!).

My waist was 35" before I was an eejit and put weight back on. Now it's a 37". When I was 220, it was 40". Wish I had measurements from 235.

But the area right below my waist is my most hated. My belly overhang love handle area. I hatehatehatehatehate that part. It's gone down a bit, but I want it GONE. It's just gross.
