Hi Everyone
,
My name is Martie (Martha) and I am 19 years old.
I menstruate every 2-3 months (if I'm lucky)! And this has been the case since I was 15.
My whole life I was a normal weight right up until the end of last year, I am 5'9" and generally maintained my weight around 135-145 pounds since I was about 14.
But I have recently begin to struggle with my weight, mainly due to what I thought was just a sugar addiction. I put on 30lbs in 3 months. However much I try, I experience uncontrollable sugar lows in the early afternoon.I heard this was due to insulin resitance, attributed to PCOS?
The only other symptom I can see at the moment, is a small skin-flap on my eye.
The only thing I wonder, however, is that I seem to have a high metabolism, and I am sure the weight I put down was due to eating in excess of 5,000cal a day,
not a slow metabolism..
My question is, is it possible to be insulin resustant, yet not hypothyroid?
And do you think PCOS is likely in my case?
Thanks for reading and Thanks in advance,
Martie.
