Default How Many Diet Books do we NEED!

How many diet books do YOU own!
I was thinking about this today..

I think I have, in the past bought just about EVERY book I could find.. just looking for that quick fix..

off the top of my head, without looking I know I have:

Stop the Insanity
Fast food Nation
The Great American Detox Diet
The Bootcamp diet
The Diet Principal
The Beverley Hill’s Diet
Swartzbein diet (Very good diet)
French Women Don’t get fat
French Women for all seasons
Atkins (actually have two or three low carb books)
The Thermogenic Effect
Total Health Makeover (Marilu Henner)
The World’s Best Kept Diet Secrets
The Okinawa Program (LOVE this book by Dr. Weil!)
Taking care of yourself (Dr. Weil.. love him!!!)
The sexy years (good book re: hormones)
Dynamic Health
Make the Connection
Fit for Life
The Martini diet (ok.. this was a fun read)
Doctor’s Quick Weight Loss (old – dr. Stillman)

And I am sure about 20 more…
I have decided I am NEVER buying another diet book! I have so much info crammed into my poor brain.. I can’t think straight as it is..

Every time I see a new book I get angry because I want it.. on some level I think there must STILL be something I don't know.. that magic bullet....

I will say that some on that list are books I re-read from time to time..
Stop the insanity is what got me finally off my arse and into some form of exercise..

Just thought this was interesting!

I have a bunch also, but somehow some disappear. The latest is YOU on a diet.....(i have the book on tapes) Really enjoy the additional information from this book.

I have been looking for a recipe from the Fit for Life book...can you help....it is a recipe for a tomatoe, alfalfa sprout, avocado, sandwich. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. Can you retype the recipe for us????

I haven't bought any in a while. The best I've read are the Eating For Life (great recipes with full color pics for all of them!) and Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle (an e-book which is the most comprehensive fat loss book I've ever read IMHO).

But knowledge is power, and I can say that I have pulled something from everything I've read.

Guilty as charged! I probably own as many DIET BOOKS as I own COOKBOOKS! Somehow there's a bit of irony in that!!!

I don't really own a lot of diet books but I own quite a few cookbooks. My favorite books are the Thin for Life books. I also like Body for Life (both original and for women).

I have only one--southbeach. I work at B&N so I skim through the others but a lot of times they are just so strict I know I could never follow them!

I would consider Fast Food Nation more of a social commentary book than a diet book. My daughter read it for school and I read it, too. Other than that I do not own any books on your list.

Me too - I could be a library on self- help and diet books. I never get to finish them. I am going to start buying books on tape only. Maybe I'll actually finish one!!
