Default How many calories do you think are in this simple banana dessert?

SIL was excited to make it for me and I couldn't say no, even though I've been trying to stay away from sweets.

Lay one-half banana in one flour tortilla. Top with shaved chocolate (very little, probably the amount of one or 1.5 squares in a normal candy bar). Wrap and fry lightly in vegetable oil. Cover with cinnamon-sugar.

Thanks so much!! I'm trying to keep really good track of my calories.

Ok, I'm going to take a stab at it. I love trying to analyze recipes.

- 1 flour tortilla (8") = 145
- .5 oz semisweet chocolate = 68
- .5 medium banana = 52
- .5 tbsp vegetable oil = 51 (Depending on the type and how much veg oil used, it might be different.)
- 1 tbsp cinnamon = 18
- .5 tbsp sugar = 30

Total: 364 calories

I don't know if I would say that is the right amount. I was thinking more around 500, but if you're making this yourself obviously you would be able to control the amounts and calories.

Thanks so much! That was about the numbers I figured out, but I'm very new at this. I'm going to try to avoid surprise desserts in the future.

That sounds so good! And it could probably be made diet-friendly:

- 90 calorie flour tortilla
- 1/4 bar (10g) of Lindt chocolate (50 calories)
- half banana (55 calories)
- 1 tsp of canola oil (40 calories)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (6 calories)
- Half packet of artificial sweetener: splenda or equal (0 calories)

That sounds like a stellar dessert for 241 calories! I mean, clearly the one your sister made had more, but if you liked it, you could make a version for more than 100 less! And such a tasty dessert for 240 calories is hard to come by!

Instead of frying it in oil, sprinkle the cinnamon inside the tortilla with the banana and pop it in the micro for a minute or two. This would eliminate both the oil and the added sugar and the chocolate would still be warm and melty.
