I had my 3rd child, Penelope Molly, on March 10th! She was born at almost 37 weeks, 7lb 6oz, perfectly healthy and nursing well.
I have had such enormous swelling in my ankles and feet (which is weird, 'cause I never swelled during any of my pregnancies) that I'm scared to step on a scale til that is all gone! I know my total gain was around 22lbs so not terrible... but I am very ready to get back on track again. I kind of totally let healthy eating go by the wayside during the last several weeks of my pregnancy.
Don't worry about the swelling! I had this with Saber, and right about the 2 week postpartum point, it slowly started going away. You should be able to start tying your shoes again in about a week or two.
I am glad to report the swelling is gone! At last! It took about 10 days though. I weighed myself two days ago and am down to 224, I was 218 when I got pregnant so I feel good about this (hooray for breastfeeding, right? ). Pen is hitting her first growth spurt.... gotta go feed her again.
If anyone has suggestions on how to keep my 13 month old from going nuts and beating the daylights out of my two week old while I'm nursing her, I'm all for it!

Congrats on the newbie!! Hope you are getting some rest some times. Ah, I remember when my oldest was jealous when my youngest was born. They're 6 yrs. apart; I still don't think my oldest (16) likes the idea of a little sister (10) 'cause all they do is fight! Best to you and your family!!
