hi everyone
have been trying to locate some resources for our parish. speciifcallly wt mgt/fitness activitties centered around your religeon. ie for catholics saying the rosary while doing laps/ other exercise...meditations etc. which emphasise and wellness. (respecting God thru better care of our bodies (as temples of the Lord?)

I have led First Place, a Christian based weight loss program at my church. It's a great program. It combines a live it (diet), prayer, bible study, scripture reading, prayer, exercise, encouragement and then two other commitments of attendance and commitment record.... you can find out more about it at firstplace.org.

I haven't tried this yet, but it seems to be what you are looking for. It is a program called Light Weigh. Their web site is www.lightweigh.com. Here is a quick description from their web site:

The Light Weigh Video Series is designed to be done in small groups in your parish or in your home. The Light Weigh is Catholic, and so it is able to draw upon the FULLNESS of the Truth found in our beautiful Faith, the Faith that Jesus Himself founded personally and designed.
