Yay Jessica! Keiko is such a beautiful dog! It looked like a really fun event. One of our local pet rescue groups holds a 5K "Doggie Dash and Dawdle." They actually rent dogs to people who don't have them. Maybe I'll do that this year.

Squeak: :grouphug: hope to see you around more sometime.

Thanks for the Welcome backs Hannah & Ellis!

I have taken a few days off of work. Last Friday and today. 4 day weekend for me! :) I have gotten a lot done around the house. Wasted some time playing computer games. Finished a book. Organizing my recipes. Cleaned most of my kitchen. Lots of laundry. Got some shopping/quality time in with my family. Working on cleaning my bedroom now. It has been a busy few days - but in a very good way. I feel so much better now. I am not even dreading work tomorrow.

Only bad things is I have ordered a new computer. :o This one is on it's way out.

How is everyone? :)

Whew, I need to have some days like yours Squeak. I'm beginning to get the feeling that boxes will never be gone from my life. They will though. I even have a deadline because we're having a yardsale the first weekend in April.

solarmama 03-21-2005 02:54 PM

Whoosh! What a week! I've been to the Journal of Light Construction Conference in Providence all week, and it has changed my whole picture of how my business should be run. And now the REAL work begins. Bring all that back, convince my co-worker-owners that what I learned is really the right way to work things, like how we book expenses, for example, and then change over our jobs from the first of the year. Oy.

And I'm all fired up to get back on the diet wagon. Seems that being force-fed nothing but Mall Chinese food and bagels and Coke forces you to take a hard look at what you've been eating. So, today I was good and had an egg-plus-a-white omelet with lowfat cream cheese, and a small bowl of soup for lunch. Oh, and a small bowl of chocolate pudding too, but it was nonfat, so I'm not too worried.

Jessica, way to go with the 5K! Cute pup, too. Hannah - I've been in my house for two years and my basement is still all boxes. I'm never good about chores, and my husband is worse. He can ignore clutter like nobody's business, if it means he doesn't have to do work. That bum!

And now my MIL called this morning to enthuse about how she's on a great diet, feeling wonderful, got my FIL on it too, all that good stuff. I'm glad for her - but now I feel like we're in a bit of a race. If she loses more than me, does she win? I don't know. Of course, she carries her weight very differently than I do, she's a rear & thighs gal while I'm a boobs and gut gal. So we can't really compare. But she's super energetic where I'm just not, and so she'll be pointing all that energy at exercising and diet while I'm scambling to reorganize my business and my life at the same time, and wishing I was sleeping. Oy.

Hey, that turned into a snivel, so sorry.

Ciao ladies, it's back to work for me! (Only one check-in allowed per day, wah!)

Take care,
Solarmama

Hi everyone,
How are y'all doin? I am good, have no idea what I weigh, but have clearer thinkin on weight loss anyway, so I guess that is a step in the right direction. Will stop by later, just wanted to say hey, still here, alive and well.

Hannah - if it makes you feel better - it took me 3 years to "unpack". A deadline should help! :)

Solarmama - Worry about your diet not your MIL's. :)

Hi Virginia! Nice to drop in.

Hi Ellis, Mauvais, Tiki, Jessica & everyone else!

Den - where did you go??? Is it a new rule where at least one of us needs to disapear? ;)

Quiet day for me. Work was good. My most annoying coworker is quitting. Oh darn. I have decided against a new job. Good for my career but not very good for my own mental/emotional state. It would be all new, very busy and a little in over my head. Right now I will take the stress I know, over what I don't know.
I also had some quality munchkin time. He is getting so big. He is very strong willed too, go figure.
Now I am just trying to figure out if I can swing a CA trip in July...

Hi all,

Still crazy at work so posting time is cut WAY down. I am trying really hard to get my butt in gear for cheerleading which starts in two weeks. Between kids school, my job, cheerleading, gymnastics I won't have any time left to hang out with the cute guy. He is equally busy so its going to get a little crazy trying to get our schedules to mesh. Oh well, thank goodness that we both are hyper and don't mind staying up late to at least get a good phone conversation in.

Hi, everyone. My name is Meshell. I am a 33 year-old SAHM in SC. I haven't visited this site in a few months, so I thought I would drop back by. I seem to do much better on my weight loss journey when I have a little support/accountability. I look forward to chatting with all of you.

Hi All!! Sorry I have been MIA. CRAZY busy, and I forgot to take my meds 4 days in one week and had a melt down. (don't ask...I've never done it before and I don't know what the heck happened!!!) Last friday I went in for the second carpal tunnel release surgery and it is recovering nicely. I had the extra little tendon and the split nerve like in the other hand!!!! I really AM a freak of nature!!! (He had to make a bigger cut this time because of the position of the nerves, but I don't care what it looks like as long as the numbness is gone!!!!) Actually, when it heals it will probably look like I have a couple of life lines...

Hi chicas!

My trip to DC was a lot of fun but it totally made me remember why i love SoCal. it was soooo cold! Brrrr! My mother called on friday and said she was on the way to the hospital with my sister and she was having a miscarriage. Later that night, my mom called from the hospital room and my little sister wanted to talk to me. Awww! I thought it was so awesome that she wanted to talk to me - I felt like such a big sister. She was sore and sad but it wasn't too bad. Since she was only 10 weeks along (the baby had stopped growing at 5 weeks), she was happier it happened now and not later. She also had no idea how many women had miscarriages. I'm guessing it's so sad that women don't talk about it but I was suprised to learn 1 in 5 pregnancies ends in miscarriage in the first trimester. Wow. Of course, she felt like she was the only one until all her friends and family started telling her their stories. Her gynocologist confirmed that it was perfectly normal and that it didn't mean she wouldn't be able to have a full-term prgnancy. Anyway, sad news but happy that my sister is okay.

Oh yes... and now she's going on birth control. :)

Welcome Back Den! :grouphug: I hope you feel better soon.

Welcome Meshell!

Jessica - Sorry your sister had such a hard time. :grouphug: I am glad you could be there for her.

Hi Mauvais, Ellis, Solarmama, Hannah & Tiki!

Things here are ok. Quiet, which is nice. I had a nice Easter with my family. Talked to the boy a few times. Played with my nephew. All is good. :)

tikanique 03-29-2005 10:06 AM

Goddess, I am glad that you were there for your sister. She is lucky to have you. And I totally understand you likine SoCal over DC. I'd take warm weather all year too.

Hiya Den, glad to see you posting. Hope you heal up soon. Don't you just love that the thermometer is going up? I hope it melts the last of those nasty blackish snow piles away. They are so disgusting.

All of my bosses are out of town until Thursday so I have NO SUPERVISION!! I will actually be able to get some work done. YEAH!!!

Tiki.
