I thought of something else, Solar... because it's not going to just be a problem getting out of the bed. It's going to be a problem making yourself move too.
When I would work out in the morning at homes, I would just go to sleep in what I wanted to work out in, and just put my socks and shoes right by the bed, so I'd be all ready to go. Because getting up is only going to be half the battle. :) I kinda think maybe you should look over your schedule again and see if maybe there's a better time for it. I have found working out directly after work to be good. It gets rid of that stress and then by the time I come home I'm not even thinking about work. Which is a very good thing for me. Just a thought. :) |
Holy cow, a TON of great suggestions!
Thank you all very much! I hadn't thought about the "gradually turn on the lights" alarms. I also wonder if my issue is a mild form of Seasonal Affective Disorder - I have much more trouble getting up in the late Fall and Winter than in the Summer, I realize. I'm thinking I should switch some of my lights for full-spectrum lights and see what that does. Right now I'm working with the "Alarm goes off, and if I don't appear in five minutes, the DH comes and says 'you told me to come get you up, now don't make this difficult,' and I am guilted out of bed," method. It's worked 2 days in a row, so we'll see how that goes - probably as long as the DH is willing to keep it up. Liz - usually I perk right up once I've stumbled around for a few minutes - it's getting to the point where I'm putting feet to floor to stay (not running back to bed after turning off my alarm for the second time) that has been the issue. These last two days where I've gotten up, I've gone downstairs and right to my exercise tapes. But you're right, it's worth it to pay attention to it! Thanks again, y'all! Solarmama |
