ellis Ė congratulations on starting your spinning class! And the weights too!
Sarah and Megan Ė Iím really impressed with how much youíre exercising! Good work!

And I have been exercising, I just havenít been posting. I went to the gym my usual 3 times for weightlifting last week, and the same this week. This morning I did back and shoulders, and Iím pleasantly sore.
I went jogging two times last week, but this week I havenít gone at all. Iím getting bored with jogging and think Iíll see whether I can find something else to do. Maybe spinning, ellis? Is it fun? Worth a try?

What I really get a kick out when it comes to the weightlifting is that I get stronger every week. In just the last 3 weeks, Iíve added several lbs on all of the exercises. Iím aiming for Meganís username too: Lean, Long and Strong!

Sunday exercise: 30 minutes elliptical, 5 minutes rowing, 25 minutes biking... phew! I have to say though, it felt so good to have done it, and to feel that good exercise soreness afterwards! Then I could sit on the couch later that night and watch "Swordfish" and not feel like a big slacker hehehe!

Hard to fathom I used to row for an hour! Gotta get back in shape!

Wish my gym had belly-dancing classes I'm jealous heh!

Started back to Curves tonight. 30 minute workout! I love Curves! Fast and effective! Now if I could just straighten my elbows, so I won;t shovel in the food, I would be alright.

I went to the gym and did my weightlifting today.

I already posted in the non-scale victories about jogging and running on the treadmill. (Yey!)
But in addition to a victory I had a small awkward episode too: I was getting ready for the bench press exercise; I went for 2 x 30lbs dumbbells, and lay down on the bench. When I tried to lift the dumbbells my arms felt like spaghetti, and I couldnít even do the exercise once! I had to drop the dumbbells on the floor, get up from the bench Ė carry the dumbbells to the rack and pick up two 26lbs dumbbells instead, go back to the bench, lie down, and then do my 8 x 3 bench presses!
Ah well. Fortune favors the brave, nothing ventured, nothing gained, and all thatÖ.. right?

Mette,

Congrats on your NSV and hey, the 26x2 dumbbells! You'll definitely get up to 30, just keep plugging away at it... I am not even at the point where I am weight-lifting Soon I hope, heh!

to you!

I joined a really good gym near me, about $20 more a month than the YMCA, but with better staff, upkeep, neighborhood, very worth it. They constantly have staff wandering around watching for people with questions, or observing weight-lifting form, offering to be a spotter, picking up towels, cleaning off sweaty equipment. So I'm looking forward to getting into the weight stuff! I would love to be more muscle!

Right now, I am getting up my cardio. Tonight I did 55 minutes, walking at 2.5-3.5 mph, on the treadmill, and 5 on the rowing machine. Sweat was beading up on the top of my hands and wrists - weird huh? I had a friend tell me that bodies normally sweat the most where the most fat is, but I'm doubtful of this. If that was the case, my boobs, stomach and butt would be the spots on me, not my hands!

Ok, off to make little dinner and watch a corny romantic comedy - "Kate & Leopold". Mmm, Hugh Jackman...

Sarah, have you got fat hands?
Very impressive workout, girl!!

Mette, congratulations on the running! I know just how that feels!

This sounds pathetic (to me, anyhow), but yesterday I did an entire 20 minutes on my rowing machine. I've gotten so out of shape since Dad's decline, and haven't been getting to the Y for my usual 1 hour workout.
I got on intending to do 20 minutes, but as soon as I started, I thought, "Oh, God. I'll be lucky if I make it to five."
Anyhow, I did it, and it felt great!

Ellis,

You kick a**!! Butt-kicking chorus line!

20 minutes!? I do 5 measly minutes and I'm thinking they are gonna have to Windex me off the thing along with the gym grime. Trust me, you got me beat. Me and my chubbo hands

You rock...

I was planning on an hour at the gym tonight but today I found out my company was BOUGHT OUT! Yep, new owners (from Minnesota... I didn't think there was anything in Minnesota but cows and trees but I guess they have acquired some cash too!). Along came new benefits, the whole new deal and all the paperwork to go with it. Luckily, we seem to be only getting a good deal out of this, not a raw one. So, I got home late, and filled out paperwork till recently. Ugh. Time for bed!

Gym tomorrow - watch out treadmill! Good night all
