Glad we could entertain someone other than just ourselves - right ellis? :D

I feel good because today when I was walking from the bus stop to my CSA farm and back two guys on motorcycles stopped to offer me a ride. Of course I politely declined, but it still made me feel like a hottie! :cheer:

I feel good because I have the Alternachicks. I had a very harsh reminder this week of how much someone, even if I don't see them in real life from day to day, can mean to me. Even those chicks that don't make it in here as much as they used to. ;) :grouphug:

Squeaker: :goodvibes

... and I feel good because one of the ladies at the aqua aerobics class, who I haven't seen for a while, gave me a hug and said I looked skinny!

I feel good because I got a job. :) yeah baby.

I'm with Squeak - it always makes me feel good to visit Alternachicks and chat with all of you! :D

hannah_phi 06-10-2004 02:09 PM

I feel good whenever I make it here too! :D
I also feel good because I used the cloth grocery bags my mom made me for the first time today.

... and I feel good because I bought my first pair of size 10 Levi's 515s today. I can actually get them zipped and buttoned, too. Just don't ask me to breathe.

... I feel good because I got one of the oddest, but coolest compliments. A dear friend of mine told me if he was straight, he would have the hots for me. :D I laughed, but was flattered.

...I also feel good because I did a good job for my first real assignment for my new position.

I feel good because I had a talk with my WW leader and now I feel a bit more motivated - was down in the dumps when I got there but she helped put things in perspective.

I feel good because it's summer and I LOVE summer!

i feel good because I got in a whole hour total of walking around today, much more than i've done in quite a while.

I feel good cause the weather is fine and I spent some time outdoors this weekend :D

I feel good because this weekend at Wal-Mart (yes...Wal-Mart...lol) I was reaching up to grab something on a shelf...and Jason said "Your butt is getting small."

Of course, I cannot take a compliment, so I was like "over the past 6 months...I have only reduced from a 16 to a loose 16/tight 14...so it isn't all that much."

He then said "but it is DIFFERENT. It is more bubbled, rounder now."

Okay...I take that in "man terms" that all these darm squats and butt/thigh exercises are actually "lifting" that thing back there!

I have noticed a decrease in the "crease" where the bottom of the butt cheeks meet the upper thighs....*sly smile*

Oh...another reason I feel good...Thursday I adopted a new kitty!

An odd story actually...I have a declawed and spayed gray female kitty (named Gollum for her ability to sneak up on you in the dark and then out of the blue you see these glowing eyes staring at you!) Well...I had been wanting another kitty...a female...but didn't want to shell out right now for spaying and all that-and what I REALLY had been wanting was a breed called a Bengal-where they breed a domestic housecat with a certain kind of wildcat-the result being kittens with spectacular markings...some look like tiny cheetas with the wildcat "spots" and the others are a gorgeous black and peanut butter tan "marble" pattern. (the pattern sort of looks like how a fudge ripple goes through ice cream-not a regular stripe or patch type of marking)

We were at the pet store there was a card on the bulletin board for a woman who places strays and unwanted animals in homes...and I took one. I held it for about a week, and then called her. I told her I was actually looking for a female cat, and if she could possibly find one...one that was already spayed and declawed. I knew it was a long shot. She told me about a woman who has an animal sanctuary about a 40 minute drive from me...and I went out there. This woman takes in strays, and also unwanted pets that have to be given up because the owner's cannot take care of them/do not want them anymore. She had about 25 dogs, over 70 cats, a horse, 4 baby deer (whose mother had been hit by a car), and everything else you could imagine. I asked her if she charged for "adoption" and she said no...but she did accept donations.
I asked her about any female declawed and spayed cats...and she said she had several in the house and would bring them out...she had a gorgeous lilac point siamese-full blooded-who was BEAUTIFUL. The owner bought her for a pretty penny, paid for all of her vet operations, and then decided to give her away...poor thing. Then she brought out a couple standard domestic cats of different colors, etc. THEN...the last cat she brought out was a big, FAT kitty...in a gorgeous black and peanut butter marble pattern...with sea green eyes. On the top of her head the marble pattern is portrayed in the strangest pattern...when I saw it I immediately thought of the movie Silence of the Lambs...with the little "death's head moth" that has the markings that looks like a little "face" on the moth. The marble pattern on her head was EXACTLY like the pattern on that moth. The pattern on her fur looks strangely like that of a Bengal cat...and it made me wonder if indeed she was one...because the original owner took the time and expense to spay and declaw her, etc. If she's not then she has very good genes.

Oh...I did take her home...and because of the markings on her head..."Clarice" sounded like a good name to me!
