  • Angelina Jolie
    Catherine Zeta-Jones
    Bettie Page
    Charlize Theron

  • Emily Murphy, Henrietta Muir Edwards, Louise McKinney, Irene Parlby and Nellie McClung
  • Nigella Lawson. She admits that she allows herself to gain a certain amount of weight before taking steps to lose. Not a LOT, so she doesn't hurt herself, but she's not afraid to flaunt her hips She's gorgeous at any size.
  • Mauvais, most of my list was on your list. lol, but must absolutely add Jodie Foster.
  • I have to add Dorothy Parker
  • My little list.....hmmmm.....

Ani Difranco (gorgeous voice, awesome guitar, and she didn't sell herself out for a record deal)

all of my belly dance sisters

Meg White (of the White Stripes for her quirky but awesome taste)

Stevie Nicks (gotta love her eternal witchy grooviness...voice...and clothing)

All of the ladies here at 3FC...*but especially VermontMom and Mauvais*

Trisha Biggar (Star Wars costume designer...for her astounding design work)

Anne Rice (for her great vampire novels...and being quirky and wierd and NOT CARING!)

Any woman who works in patient care at a nursing home...or is an elementary school teacher and after 5-10 years...is still there for the right reasons and enjoys what they do....

  • Awwww shucks ....Thanks Aphil

BTW I think Meg White is cool too - she is talented and attrative in her own quietly gothy kind of way - I love her hair!
  • Ah yes....LOVE Meg White...GRRRREAT hair...
  • Yay for Ani Difranco - and anyone in the oregon area, she's coming to town in april, portland AND eugene.

I have more but am at work, i'll get back to you. I was just bursting with ani excitement. Seen her every time she's come to eugene, she's amazing.

    Ani is awesome. !!!!

lil story on Anne Rice wierdness :
In New Orleans few blocks from her house new restaurant opening. called the cheesecake factory or something. bunch of neon for it's front. well Anne *****es a storm up. doesn't fit in the garden district decor. so on and so on.
but here is the part that i thought wierd. this is coming from a woman who has a giant ( and i mean pretty freaking huge) statue of a dog. german shepard looking on her second story balcony few blocks over. so in her logic no neon bad for pretty garden district but bring on big ugly dog statues? lol
but other than that i love her and her hubby stan and son chris. she is quite the eccentric character.
  • Well there are alot of women on the boards
I see women here everyday that I admire for their strength, beauty, and honesty. The willingness to lay it on the line and say I struggle, this weightloss thing is hard, and it has alot to do with my heart and soul and alot less to do with what I am putting in my mouth.

Angelina Jolie- Not only is she beautiful she is a very giving person and has been asked by the UN to be an ambassador to several 3rd world countries. She left Billy Bob when that relationship was no longer healthy for her. And she conveys strength to me.

Dawn French- She is fat, silly, and absolutely sexy. Because your heavy doesn't mean your not multi-faceted and watching her in the Vicar of Dibley I saw one of the bravest people. She played the lead and carried it, without being the butt of the joke.

The young lady who runs the anorexic web. I admire her bravery at being so blunt of the deadliness and pervasiness of eating disorders.

My mother- for still be beautiful and growing at almost 50.

The 3FC- they have given me so much in this site and a "safe" place to be who I am.

Charlize Theron- For overcoming a tradgedy in her life (her mother shot her father) and still being beautiful. For being brave enough to go outside the box and be a "Monster".

Paula Abdul and Alanis Morisette for talking openly about their eatings disorders.

    Geena Davis- strength period.

There are hundreds more but this is all my brain will give up this morning.

    Miss Chris
  • Oooh great thread!

Oprah! She's lost and gained, and always held her head up high. She is so generous with others, grateful for what she has, and she doesn't forget where she came from.

Princess Diana - for being such a beautiful person on the inside.

Ellen Degeneres - for standing up for herself and others in such a positive manner.

Annie Lennox - the most amazing voice and she isn't full of herself!

Angelina Jolie - for sharing 1/3 of her fortune with others that need it.

Diane Keaton - for being such a good mom.

Shakira - she's a good girl! sweet, regular and good to her family.

    Beyonce - Ditto!

Erma Bombeck - Immense talent and such great wit that comforts many women when life falls apart.

Diane Lane - For her talent and self esteem

Cynthia Nixon - for protesting budget cuts in public schools, even if it meant getting arrested.

Jami Lee Curtis - for showing the world she's just like us when a makeup artist isn't around.

And Miss Chris, you are just sweet as pie.
  • i would have to agree with all who said angelina jolie.. there is just something about that woman..
