Heather, mine are the slip-ons, but they're the two-strap across the top. I hate the ones with heel straps. They don't fit properly. I need some new ones this summer. I'd like to maybe get a pair of the close-toed "clog-type" as well. For formal wear.

Noodles913 02-06-2004 06:22 PM

Ellis:

1 Word. EbaY! I got a $90 pair of Birkies for $50...$40...$30... I E-Snipe em' at the last minute.
:D

ellis 02-06-2004 06:24 PM

Good tip! Thanks, Noodles!!

blugirrl1 02-06-2004 08:31 PM

 oops forgot i was in the foot fetish forum

dentrassi 02-06-2004 10:26 PM

drool.....sniff..... :cloud9:

mauvaisroux 02-06-2004 10:26 PM

I am thankful to have two good feet to walk on (sometimes two left feet but that is another story :D )

blugirrl1 02-07-2004 09:07 AM

Den : I hope you feel better. sniffle be gone vibes headed your way..

Ellis : i think i goofed meant 2 strap, just think off as 1 strap cuz i am mentally challenged :p . i like the closed toe ones too but hate the ones with heel straps..
funny thing was until about 5 years ago i would only wear boots. i mean no tennies, no sandals. i hated my toes, heels to show. and teniies didn't feel " secure " enough. go figure.

Noodles, thanks for the tip, gonna have to keep my eye out :mag: , all i got now is the fakenstocks

Mauvais :

ellis 02-07-2004 09:29 AM

I THOUGHT that's what you meant, Heather. ;)
I'm sure a psychiatrist would have something to say about your former need to wear boots all the time.
I used to buy cheap shoes, but my feet won't put up with it anymore. And besides, in the long run, the "expensive" shoes are a better bargain. They last a LOT longer, and are much more comfortable. (Okay, I draw the line at Tender Tootsies, although I'm sure they have more fashionable choices since last I looked. )

Oh! I see our lovely moderator has given us a gentle reminder of the actual purpose of this thread. :D

I am grateful to have almost made it through this week sans meds.

squeaker 02-07-2004 10:31 AM

I am grateful Ellis had a good week!

I am also very grateful that after health problems, miscarriages, and a very high risk pregnancy, my friend was able to give birth to a healthy full term baby girl last night!

ellis 02-07-2004 10:49 AM

Thank you, Squeak. :grouphug:
That's wonderful news about your friend!!

dentrassi 02-07-2004 11:18 AM

WOO HOO!!!! I'm grateful that you chickies are doing well.

I'm ALSO grateful that the reason the furnace wasn't working this morning had to do with a quickly resolved (and inexpensive...relatively) removal of an old bird's nest!! It was 57 degrees in here this morning!!!

becgris 02-08-2004 10:05 AM

Woo hoo! I'm grateful that I got an appointment for an interview with the school district that I want to teach in. I still have to make it through the rest of the year at this terrible job, but I have a brighter outlook now. ;)

ellis 02-08-2004 10:07 AM

 That's why I'm off meds right now, Heather. I'm in the process of switching to something different, and had to go off my current meds. I get my new ones on Monday.

Noodles913 02-09-2004 03:39 AM

I'm sicker than a dog so I am happy and grateful I have a husband who cooks! HE made me homemade chicken soup! What a doll!!

On another note...I'm no longer posting again!!! This post will be my 777th post and I don't wanna see my 7's disappear so...BYE!!

I'm kidding...I couldn't refrain from posting unless I was REALLY in bad shape...but them 777's still look good don't they?! :smug:

ellis 02-09-2004 07:57 AM

Becgris, good luck with the interview! :hat:

Noddles, better than 666.

Merrylegs 02-09-2004 10:09 AM

Much better than 666! Oh, btw, Ellis...I see we'll be celebrating your 5000th post very soon. Will you be having the event catered?

ellis 02-09-2004 01:37 PM

Oh, hardy hardy har, Merry. snort. Couldja be a little more sarcatic, darling? I'm pretty obtuse.

Merrylegs 02-09-2004 10:10 PM

Well, fine...we'll just do a potluck instead. I just hope no one brings a jellied salad.

Today I'm grateful that DH had dinner ready to go on the table when I got home from work all tired and slightly grumpy.

squeaker 02-09-2004 10:38 PM

I am very grateful for good friends, even if I only see him once every 2 years!

blugirrl1 02-20-2004 06:14 AM

Today i am grateful for tax returns. and cheap cars.. we needed a 2nd car and my friend's sister just happened to have one, running for cheapo. so i can get my slob of a dh out of mine before it is trashed. lol..

ellis 02-20-2004 07:51 AM

I am grateful for having found what seems the perfect tenant. We'll just get that leased signed...
Oh, and I'm grateful for tax returns, too. I'm hoping for a big one. :D

mauvaisroux 02-20-2004 11:22 AM

Great news ellis! :cb:

ellis 02-20-2004 01:32 PM

Thanks, Mauvais!

mauvaisroux 02-20-2004 02:02 PM

Yeah, so when do I move in?

ellis 02-20-2004 02:34 PM

As soon as you pass the credit and police checks.

mauvaisroux 02-20-2004 03:24 PM

I happen to have an "A" credit report and I have never been involved with the police, although I am guilty of checking out the cute coppers out at when I have had to file documents at the courthouse for work - I love a man in uniform ;)

chervata 02-20-2004 08:28 PM

I am happy and grateful that hubby is OK with me NOT going to FL with him this spring, so that I can sit there for the 31st year in a row with her taking cheap shots at me and/or giving me the cold shoulder treatment. He understands that I am in menopause and I just feel too fragile and overwhelmed sometimes with toxic people to be around her, and is going with his golfing buddies instead. WHEW! relief!! I am staying home with my 17 year old darling son and my sweet doggy. Life is good. :dizzy:

chervata 02-20-2004 08:30 PM

Oh, sorry!! This was MIL I was talking about. I can't even say the name...shhhhhh. If you look up wicked witch of the west, it shows her pic..... Not kidding. 31 years experience.

squeaker 02-20-2004 08:39 PM

If it weren't for the fact I love my nephew and don't want to live far from him, I would fight Mauvais for the apartment. :)

I am grateful for munchkin kisses.

I am grateful for my bonus I recieved today. And while I normally may not say things like this - I think I deserved it! I am also greatful for a boss, even when things are hectic, tells me I "have to" go out to lunch with my friends. :)

And I am grateful for the guys who have made me feel really good about myself the last 2 weeks, even if one is engage and the other is gay! :)

Noodles913 02-22-2004 03:46 AM

I am happy and grateful for being here in Arizona. After I read the threads about all of the snow/ice/hail/white stuff most of you girls live in...I felt bad... cause I wish I could share the sunshine with all of you!

But I also start thanking the Man Upstairs "Thank you thank you thank you that I have sunshine & warmth that I would share if I could." I was very sick for 3 years on chemo and the cold weather made things worse health/body wise. My body couldn't regulate it's thermometer so I was always freezing...even in summertime.
Come to think of it...I am happy and grateful I'm even alive after all of that crud. **Thanks the Man Upstairs Again...** :smug:

PS: Here's some virtual sunshines...best I an do with what I got to offer ya. :D

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

lmao!! when i worked at the video store in NOLA every day our ups guy was the same guy Ricky. well after a while me and my manager started bugging him." hey bring us in some spare uniforms so we can play ups with our honeys" he would just look at us like we were wierd. but we were serious. lol go figure..

squeaker 02-24-2004 06:52 AM

I know I have said this a lot lately but - I am grateful for my munchkin, who makes be feel better just being around him, esp. when he is being lovey dovey or giggling. I am also grateful for a best friend who will spend 2 hours on the phone with me talking about nothing because I need a distraction from (partially self induced) stress.

must be because i have her sister as my MIL but i knew automatically who you were talking about. lol

squeaker 03-05-2004 09:37 PM

I am increadably grateful for my nephew, and the staff at our local Childern's hospital.

He has had a runny nose for the last 2 days, but tonight he suddenly got a very high fever. He had a seizure. He went to the ER, and is now home. Everything is ok. All tests came back good. It was the result of the high spike in his fever. We are all a little freaked out, but ok.

ellis 03-05-2004 09:56 PM

Squeak, I'm so glad your little Munchkin is alright. :grouphug: I'll be saying prayers for him... he'll be fine.

squeaker 03-05-2004 10:08 PM

Thank you Ellis. :grouphug:

I know he is going to be ok, I am much more calm then I had been. He did very well at the hospital. He is just so little. :(

ellis 03-05-2004 10:24 PM

I know. There's nothing more frightening than having a child you love sick. Nothing. I know he means the world to you. You're such a good Auntie S. :)
