shoequeen69 02-02-2004 10:31 AM

Hi everyone! Mauvaisroux I love your new photo! Very cute. Well I had a TOTAL pig out day yesterday with the Super Bowl party going on. I can't even tell you how much I ate and drank :hat:  :faint: hahahaha
Last week I lost another pound taking me to 192. Don't know if my binge yesterday put me over or not. I'm back on the wagon today. Had a breakfast shake this a.m., having a hamburger pattie and peas for lunch. Trying for no soda today and aerobics tonight. Hope you're all doing well. Later Ladies - Amy

mauvaisroux 02-02-2004 02:44 PM

Thanks Shoequeen! I pigged out on Greek food yesterday so don't feel too bad :D

End of the month report

Anyone want to report in on how their first month of the year went? I lost 6 1/2 pounds this month, with which I am very pleased. I made it to the gym 6 times, which doesn't sound like a lot for the whole month but is better than the 0 times I usually go. This time I am trying to ease into things rather than go gung-ho and then quit after a week.

My goals for February are to make it to the gym at least two times a week and to lose at least one pound a week.

There are roughly 17 weeks left until June 1! Shorts and swimming suits are not far away.

:sunny: :flow1: :flow2:

mauvaisroux 02-02-2004 03:17 PM

Actually, we are supposed to have a monthly progress thread...gee I am really slacking off this week aren't I?

I will go and start it now

Something yummy this way comes

Hey everyone

I found something that might help some of you with our summer challenge. :cheer:

My sister found a 1 point (WW) cheesecake. It's called Waist Watchers and comes in a small individual container (portion control :cbg: ). It comes in all kinds of flavours like blueberry, lemon, key-lime, strawberry, choco and not sure what else. These yummy little desserts are availabe at Market Fresh (for us Canadians - or MF exclusive to Ottawa?).

Anyway, check them out. Oh soooo good.

mauvaisroux 02-05-2004 04:42 PM

mmmmm...sounds delish :T

Amyjo01 02-05-2004 09:14 PM

Okay summer challenge huh?

Well I said I wanted to jump in with both feet so here is goes.

Current weight: 160.5
Goal by June: 140= ~5pounds per month

Diet= Modified Atkins: I have been completely sugar free for the past 3 weeks. That include chocolate and no starches. I am watching most carbs and attempting to increase my H2O intake upto 64 ounces a day. Trying to cut out diet soda but that is almost as inpossible as coffee.

Exercise= Walking twice a week, situps and some free weights for the upper body. (this is a must be inforced thing-hasn't actually happened yet)

Need to measure but too scared to. :(

squeaker 02-08-2004 10:25 AM

Ok so I never did report my intentions, so here they are:

Your current weight: I was somewhere around 181 at the beginning of Jan. Currently 177ish
Your June 5th goal: going to go with not a huge change, just so I don't set myself up for blowing it - 169
Plan that you are following: The don't eat everything not nailed down plan. I just have to learn to eat only when I am hungry. About the only good thing that is coming for my current mental state is I haven't felt like eating much.
What you will do to reach that goal: See above plan. Try and do some sort of activity at night. From actual yoga or tai chi tapes, to clean the house, or just keep busy with a project so I don't eaat while watching TV.
What you will do when you get to your goal: New clothes, and maybe my tattoo.

mauvaisroux 02-10-2004 09:28 AM

Whoo hoo! I have officially lost 4lbs for the summer challenge :cb:

shoequeen69 02-10-2004 11:08 AM

WAY TO GO MAUVROUX! :bravo: I'm still at 192, which is still darn good for me. I went up but got back down again. I'm happily back in to my exercise routine and bought a few healthy food items for the week. Good luck everyone!

blugirrl1 02-10-2004 11:55 AM

had to come poke my head around here to remind myself that i am working torwards something!! lol.. back on track...i can i will do this!!

Noodles913 02-10-2004 04:21 PM

I lost about 5 pounds...but it really shouldn't count cause it was cause I have been so dang sick. Been living off of soup and M & M's & Diet 7-Up. Hope it doesnt all come back now that I'm starting to feel better.

blugirrl1 02-11-2004 06:34 AM

noodles. glad you are feeling better.

Teufelchen 02-13-2004 12:33 PM

Noodles -it's a tough way to lose weight, but maybe it'll stay off. (Especially if you stop eating the M&Ms now that you are better. )

I'm trying really hard, trying to walk more and use the stairs. But it's so hard at night since I get home so late. Also, I counted the points wrong on some cookies which I have been chowing down on. Ooopsie on those. Hopefully they wont' show up on the scale next week. :?:

Jennifer 3FC 02-19-2004 09:18 PM

I suck at this challenge! I am basically the same....does anybody have any good video suggestions? I am not losing weight with Taobo. Not enough time, I think. I am moving up to a harder, longer workout, but I think it may be a while before I am able to stick it out all the way, which means even longer until I burn some fat. I need something to do daily, while I work on mastering a more intense Taebo video. Maybe a 4 mile WATP video.

ellis 02-19-2004 10:01 PM

I bought two bellydancing videos if you want to borrow one. Or two. So far I've just watched them while lying in bed eating Bridge Mixture.

ELLIS!! I love your honesty!! :smug:

I'm frustrated too. I was doing good and after I got sick I went off the band wagon. I gained 3 pounds. Now I am exercising again, but I'm hungrier!! :( I'm sick of the DVDS too...I want to exercise with other people now. Hence why I go roller skating. Someone smack me please. Thanks. :halfempty

shoequeen69 02-23-2004 09:48 AM

Hehe. Glad to see that I'm not alone. I pigged out all weekend and only exercised 3 days last week (my doc said months ago I need to do a minimum of 5 days a week :o ). Argh. I feel like I've gained a ton but if the scales are right I've only gained 1. Gotta step it up this week girls. I'm tired of being out of breath when I bend over to tie my shoes. :dz: I'm tired of my belly jiggling as much as my boobs when I exercise! And I'm tired of feeling tired! :faint: This week I vow to exercise at least 4 days and to try desperately to cut out sodas (again) and sugar (again). Good luck to everyone. Have a good week. We can do it! ;)

Jennifer 3FC 02-23-2004 07:55 PM

Amy, good luck on the exercise this week! Be sure and get plenty of sleep so you have enoug stamina to keep it up.

Ellis, I read somewhere that Bridge Mix makes boobs shrink. :D

 Oh, GREAT! Like THOSE need to be smaller! NOT!

shoequeen69 02-24-2004 03:35 PM

HAHAHAHA How wonderful!  I just bought some bridge mix today! haha I wouldn't mind a little boobie shrinkage! I've been pretty bummed out today. :( Its drizzly rain and I'm not happy at work. I know, I know, who is. haha But I'm supposed to go out with friends tonight for Fat Tuesday and hope to have some fun. :hat: Still haven't gotten on the exercise wagon for the week. Right now the plan is to go tomorrow night, Thursday night and Saturday morning. We'll see if I make it :) Take care ladies :grouphug:

ellis 02-24-2004 05:08 PM

Fat Tuesday, Amy!? What's THAT!? Is that like open house for eating?!

shoequeen69 02-25-2004 02:33 PM

HAHAHAHA. Yeah thats what I had in mind. Ended up not eating much and drinking a lot. :hat: haha Some mardi gras thing I think. I just went along for the ride. I just don't know when I'm gonna get back to the gym. Argh. Too tired today. Later - Amy

dentrassi 02-25-2004 10:49 PM

HEY!! Fat Tuesday=a chance to binge before Lent. Here in Michigan FAT TUESDAY=Packzi (pronounced poonch-key) a disgustingly high fat, high sugar, filled doughnut-like confection. (It is Polish.) Even the supermarkets here make them, but lots of people go to Hamtramck to buy them from the Polish bakeries. I personally am not that crazy about them, but my skinny hubby ate 8 of them one year!!! (And 1 is about the number of calories that WE should be eating in a day!!!)

shoequeen69 02-26-2004 09:51 AM

Mmmmm sugar filled donut sounds like my idea of Heaven! :cloud9: I'm going to have to figure out what to do with myself. I don't know if I'm in hibernation mode or what but I just can't get enough sugar!!! Those damn girl scout cookies are pure evil!! i'm FINALLY going back to the gym today. And the weather is finally clearing up and getting warmer (up to 60 today) so I'm going to try to walk at lunch. Hope you're all doing good.

Amyjo01 02-28-2004 09:34 AM

Little late on the uptake but Fat Tuesday at least here Mobile and New Orleans = the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. It is basically the equivalent to the Carnival. We have two or three weeks of nightly parades and balls were people dress up and wear masks. The riders on the floats throw beads, candy, cups, moon-pies etc to the people on the ground. Fat Tuesday wraps all of this up- all day long parade after parade and lots of food and drink.

We went to one mardi gras ball and I took my kids to the parades on Tuesday.... A bunch of people from work went to one of my MD's condo's (he was at work) and we used his place for cooking and resting and ran the kids up and down the stairs for the parades. It was cold and raining but they still had the parades.

Down to 156 this AM... which is good for me since this week has been a weird food week. Work has been heck and I haven't had time to eat (doesn't sound like a problem but it is) so 16 pounds to summer goal :)

Gracenote 02-29-2004 04:35 PM

Hello, can I join?

I know I'm a little late joining the challenge - but I suppose it's never too late to start!

My current weight: 197

My June 5th goal: 175

Plan that I am following:

- Exercise 4 to 5 times per week including aerobic and strength training
- Drinking at least 96 oz. of water daily
- Snacking less. No caffeine. Stop eating 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.
- Journaling Daily
- Reporting back to my friends at 3FC!

What I will do to reach that goal: Finish Reading Bob Green's book "Get with the Program", Take care of my body, Keep a detailed journal

What I will do when you get to my goal: Buy a new bathing suit and summer outfit and hit the beach!!

I've had some trouble with my 3FC account in the past - sometimes it won't let me post.. If that happens, I just might try to get a new account!

Well, talk to you all tomorrow!

-Gracie

ellis 02-29-2004 04:42 PM

Of course, Gracie! Welcome!

shoequeen69 03-01-2004 10:01 AM

Good job Amy Jo! :bravo: Welcome Gracie :grouphug:

Well I had a total binge this weekend. My boyfriend and I just stayed in and ATE! We had a ton of donuts and cheetos and sodas! It was great. haha But I absolutely have to get back on track this week. I'm up at least 1 pound if not 2 pounds. I am going to: 1. Go to the grocery store today and buy good stuff! 2. I am exercising a minimum of 3 days this week (if not more) starting with a weight lifting class tonight. 3. I am going to start walking at lunch again since it will be in the 70's here this week :sunny: 4. I am giving up sugary sodas and drinking the diet rite raspberry sodas I bought weeks ago! Ok. How does all that sound? Now if I can just do it!!!! But I do have an up note. I know I've lost weight this year. I just had to have a new Costco ID photo taken and I can tell a big difference in my face and neck. YEAH! :smug: My workout buddy and I took a photo together last week and I'm going to try to get a new one. Hopefully I can get a new photo to put on here too. Ok, I'm talking too much. Later gals. Hope you're all doing well - Amy

mauvaisroux 03-01-2004 12:16 PM

Welcome Gracie

shoequeen69 03-02-2004 09:40 AM

Well I was WAY off. I've gained back about 7 pounds  I was so upset last night when I got on the scale. I know its my own fault but it still hurt. But I did very good with my diet yesterday and I'm starting out today very well also. I'm not going to let it happen again! :nono: Hope you're all doing better than me! I think its time for someone to get drill sargent on me :drill: Ellis where are ya? :coach: hehe Thanks ladies. Glad I have you to come to. :thanks:

ellis 03-02-2004 09:49 AM

Amy, I'm here! So sorry you've gained weight, hon. :grouphug: That's why I weigh every day. It just creeps up on me.
Okay, listen girl... you get your butt in gear! Hear me!! :drill:

mauvaisroux 03-02-2004 10:10 AM

Yeah, I am :drill: at you too Amy! Get back on the wagon chickie :cheer:

shoequeen69 03-03-2004 12:17 PM

HAHAHA Thanks Ellis and Mauvroux :D You made my day. Ok I'm doing pretty good this week so far! I made the most beautiful salad I've ever seen last night for dinner. I swear it looked like it came from a restaurant! Target had these great pre-packaged greens so I got 1 with spring mix and 1 with spinach and carrots, then I got a package of almond slivers mixed with dried cranberries, creamy poppyseed dressing, chicken squares and mandarin oranges. It was sooo good! And I was even able to avoid the wedding cookies my family bought! :smug: Monday I did weights :strong: and did 5 minutes on the stationary bike and 5 minutes on the elliptical machine (that thing is hard!) :tread: . Last night I did an hour of step aerobics. Tonight is my night off so its going to be a little harder to be good since we're having a basketball watching party. But I'm going to try. I'm determined to stay under 200lbs! I've cut back on my sodas again too. Thanks for listening. I'll shut up now :ziplip: haha. Later - Amy

Gracenote 03-03-2004 09:10 PM

Go Shoequeen! That salad sounds delish! One I always love making (I mimicked something I had at Cheesecake Factory once) is called the "Sunshine Salad".. It has Romaine, Mandarin orange pieces, candied pecans, avocados and a sweet onion dressing that I buy from Costco. The salad is probably higher in calories than most salads, but it's so yummy! I love avocados!

Anyway, ta-ta ladies!! And remember, struggle makes you stronger!!

mauvaisroux 03-03-2004 11:11 PM

Good going Shoequeen! :cp:

lizziness 03-04-2004 01:45 PM

Wow, I had forgotten that I had made a summer challenge and when i read it i was really encouraged. I am already down to 207, my goal for the summer was under 200. I may make it after all!!

SBD is working great I have tons of energy now. Though my motivation for exercise is not really there yet. I'll have to focus on that now.
