Post Food Journal - week of Jan 5

New food journal to keep us on track!

Monday:
1 egg
2 slices of Canadian bacon
decaf tea
tossed salad with lf turkey and lf cheese
1 can of V-8
2 stalks of celery with 1 peice of Laughing cow cheese.
chili
wholewheat bun
coffee
3 lowfat cannoli
1 peice of almond rocca
2 dates
2 16-oz glasses of water

Tuesday:
1 egg
2 slices of Canadian bacon
decaf tea
tossed salad with lf turkey and lf cheese
1 can of V-8
2 stalks of celery with 1 peice of Laughing cow cheese.
ravioli stuffed with goat cheese
apple strudel with ice cream
2 diet cokes
tea

Wednesday:
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup of coffee
tossed salad with tuna
2 stalks of celery with 2 peices of Laughing cow cheese
1 can of V-8
1 baked chicken breast
1 cup of broccoli
1/2 cup lf riccota cream dessert
decaf tea
1 16 oz glass of crystal light

Hey Mauvais, what's the lf ricotta cream dessert?- sounds delish!
Is it bought, or do you have a recipe?

Ummm, it is actually from the South Beach Diet book.

All it is some riccota cheese blended with some sweetener and some vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until it is smooth and voila!

I don't have the recipe on me right now but you can probably get it from the SBD forum or from the actual SBD web site

I found it in a magazine I war reading at lunch!

In a bowl blend together 1/2 dup part skim ricotta cheese, 1/4 teaspoon lgrated lemon zest, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 package of sugar substiute. Let chill in fridge. Serve cold

2 small pieces home baked wheat bread
15 peanuts
1 orange
1 apple

1 Banana
1 Dannon Light & Fit Creamy Strawberry Yogurt
1 Small Piece of Cheddar Cheese
2 Bottles Water

Chef Salad w/o any meat
1 Diet Dr. Pepper
2 Bottles Water

Turkey Sandwich
Tiny side order of fries w/o Salt. & with Ketchup. (threw ½ of them away..was full)
3 Bottles Water

Snack:
Piece of Cheese
5 Skittles (daughter gave me 1 of each flavor)
1 tootsie pop
Quaker Quake Mini Caramel Cakes. (HEY these are GOOD!!)

D chilli, 1/2 pb&j sandwich (all sf and ww)

Mauv - about the ricotta dessert - I don't have a zester. Or a lemon. Do you know of a substitution that is good?

Jennifer -f you have a lemon you can use an ordinary grater or a small serrated knife to scrape off the lemon peel.

If you have neither maybe you could use a teeny splash of Realemon?
